When Germain Hotels added five floors to its downtown Montreal hotel on Mansfield Street in 2020, it was allowed to use only three of them. That situation has been resolved, allowing the use of the other floors that had been restricted because zoning rules tied to a separate land deal prevented the hotel from occupying the space.
