Implications and expectations: The ban on upward-only rent reviews

One year on from the introduction of the English Devolution and Community Empowerment Bill, which to everyone’s surprise, set out plans to ban upward-only rent reviews, there are questions over where the ban will apply, the uncertainty as to how the legislation will be enforced as well as how the market has already reacted and where landlords and occupiers should be focusing their attention.
