Long known as a sleepy government town, the capital of California has been working to diversify the local economy into growth sectors. Recently, several projects in Sacramento have announced progress that will help bring new companies and jobs to the region, allowing for new growth opportunities. Aggie Square, a public-private addition to the UC Davis School of Medicine campus, has announced that construction will begin in early April and it has two tenants attached to the project. California Northstate University recently received entitlement approvals from City Council allowing for the redevelopment of the Sleep Train Arena into a new teaching hospital. And Kaiser Permanente, which purchased 18 acres of land in the Railyards development in 2019, is showing some signs that construction is drawing closer.
