Fiera Capital Corp., a Montreal-based firm with $11.6 billion in real estate properties under management among its $167.1 billion in global assets, said it will have a new CEO and global president effective this summer.
Fiera named Maxime Ménard as CEO of Fiera Canada and Global Private Wealth early last year. Ménard, who spent two decades at Montreal-based registered investment manager Jarislowsky Fraser, will take over as Fiera Capital's chief executive and global president on July 1.
Jean-Guy Desjardins, who founded Fiera in 2003 and serves as its executive chair, "will continue to provide strategic oversight, shaping the firm's investment philosophy and steering global asset allocation across public markets and multi-asset solutions," the company said.
"This decision reflects a clear conviction: Maxime is the right leader to take Fiera Capital forward," said Desjardins in a statement. "He brings the discipline, integrity, and strategic focus required to execute our vision and strengthen the firm for the long term."
As for Ménard, he said in a statement that he is ready to lead the firm "into this new chapter."
"We have exceptional talent across the organization, deep roots in Canada and a growing global presence," he said. "Our focus is clear: execute with discipline, empower our teams and deliver long-term value for our clients and shareholders."
Fiera also said it promoted Gabriel Castiglio to executive director and global chief operating officer and Lucas Pontillo to executive director, global chief financial officer and head of corporate strategy. Both have held executive positions at the firm for about five years.
Fiera’s real estate holdings include industrial, retail, office, and multi-residential properties, with 348 of the properties located in Canada. It also owns properties in the U.S., Europe, Australia and New Zealand. According to its website, Fiera Real Estate has a United Kingdom division with over US$112.3 billion in assets under management.
Fiera’s real estate division recently announced the completion of the first phase of the High Plains Solar Project, a 1.4-megawatt direct-current rooftop solar installation located atop one of its properties, a 500,000-square-foot industrial facility near Calgary, Alberta.
