Purdue Pharma, the maker of narcotic pain reliever OxyContin that's accused of contributing to opioid addiction related to 700,000 overdose deaths, filed for bankruptcy court protection as part of a proposed $10 billion settlement that could affect the financing and occupancy of its headquarters and a manufacturing plant.
