The $1.5 million sale of the Savoy Rug Gallery located at 236 Federal Rd. in Brookfield, CT., represents the first phase in preparing for the construction of Costco’s new gasoline operation. The existing 5,013-square-foot property will continue to operate during the first quarter of 2012; however, it will ultimately be demolished to allow construction expansion for Costco gasoline and a more efficient entrance to be located just south of the subject property. Hal Kurfehs, vice president of Coldwell Banker Commercial Scalzo Group, along with Garett Palmer of Goodfellow Ashmore / CORFAC International, brokered the sale for the seller and were the sole brokers on the deal.
