Idaho-based Winco Foods, Inc. acquired 16.9 acres at 78 N. Stephanie St. in Henderson, NV for $7.1 million, or about $422,400 per acre.
The former single-family subdivision site was partially developed and contained a completed 30,000-square-foot structure that was originally built to house the subdivision's clubhouse. After the construction plans fell through, the site sat on the market for about a year. Winco purchased the site after obtaining a zoning change.
Now zoned commercial, the buyer plans to raze the existing clubhouse structure and rebuild a supermarket in its place. This will be the buyer's first foray into the Las Vegas market.
