Wells Real Estate Funds appointed Patricia Morris as chief real estate officer. Morris supersedes Don Henry who after a decade with the company will step down effective August 21, 2012.
“While we are sad to lose a person of the caliber of Don Henry,” said Robert Kennedy, president of Wells Real Estate Funds, “Patti is highly qualified and absolutely the best person to step into Don’s role. Her focus will be to continue to build an institutional-quality portfolio for Wells Core REIT.”
The change was announced days after the board of Wells Investment Management Co. named Morris as president of WIM following Christopher Daniel's resignation as president. WREF owns and controls WIM.
Morris has more than a quarter century of
commercial real estate experience with a focus on portfolio and investment management, marketing and investment analysis. Since 2008, she has managed the asset management group that runs Wells Core Office Income REIT and other real estate programs. Before moving to Wells nine years ago, Morris was a director and portfolio manager for Prudential Real Estate Investors and an asset manager for The Travelers Realty Investment Co.
She has a B.B.A. from the University of Mississippi. Her memberships include the National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers and the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties.
WREF is a national real estate investment company founded in Norcross, GA, 28 years ago. Wells and its programs have invested more than $11 billion in property and have managed more than 50 million square feet of space.
