Matthew Van Damm has joined the Naftali Group as executive vice president. The company's growing real estate portfolio includes luxury condos and commercial properties throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn.
Van Damm brings more than 12 years of experience, having most recently served as director of operations at Town Residential, where Van Damm was one of the original employees at what became one of the largest residential brokerage firms in Manhattan, growing to more than 500 employees in 10 offices since being founded in 2010. Throughout his career he has collaborated with top designers, architects and developers including CIM Group, Bluerock, Forest City Ratner and Extell Development Co through pre-development planning, marketing, sales and leasing.
"My move to development is a natural progression for me," said Van Damm. "It builds upon the highly specialized experience I have garnered over the past decade. I admire the business that Miki [Naftali] and the Naftali team have built in a very short amount of time and respect their approach to development. They are leaders in the industry and I am thrilled to be joining the firm."
Van Damm graduated from Mount Saint Mary College with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a minor in public relations. He is active in the community and a dedicated philanthropist, supporting Friends of the Rockaways, a group rebuilding the communities devastated by Hurricane Sandy, as well as the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis, the American Cancer Society and the Adirondack Mountain Club.
