University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee Buys Part of Old Pabst Brewery
UWM Previously Redeveloped Site for School of Public Health

The University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee purchased part of the old Pabst brewery located at 1240 N. 10th St. in Milwaukee, WI from the Zilber Property Group for $12.25 million, or about $216 per square foot.
The 56,800-square-foot building was built in 1919. UWM had previously signed a 15-year lease for the property with an option to buy at the completion of the renovation; the renovation was completed in May of 2012.
UWM purchased the property to open its School of Public Health. The purchase was funded with cash from the University of Wisconsin System.
No brokers were involved in the final sale which closed this summer.
