USC Breaks Ground On New Facility

Construction Begins on $30M Facility in Spartanburg
November 11, 2008
The University of South Carolina Upstate broke ground on the new $30 million George Dean Johnson, Jr. College of Business and Economics at 160 E. Saint John Street in Spartanburg.

The University anticipates completion of the three-story, 60,000-square-foot facility in May of 2010. The City of Spartanburg will also be constructing a $15 million, 750-space parking garage.

The City hopes this facility assists in the region's economic development and serves as a magnet for corporate investment, aiding in the start-up and support of small businesses.
