New York Life Insurance Co. acquired the 11-story Westory building in Washington, DC, from DEKA Immobilien Investment GMBH for $159.36 million, or about $590 per square foot.
The Westory is at 607 14th St. NW, delivered in 1990 and was recently renovated in 2002. The property is located near the White House in the city's East End submarket. The LEED Gold-certified structure totals 270,158 square feet and is managed by Cassidy Turley, according to CoStar information. None of the property's major leases are scheduled to expire for several years.
Both the buyer and seller were self-represented.
Please see CoStar COMPS #2512573 for more information on this transaction.
Editor's Note: The story was corrected to note that Cassidy Turley handles leasing and management at the property, but does not anchor it as a tenant.
