Twitter, an online social networking and microblogging service, signed a lease for about 313,206 square feet in the office building at 1 Tenth St. in San Francisco.
The 10-story building totals 337,909 square feet in the Market Square complex. Market Square consists of two buildings joined by a landscaped plaza and features 1.1 million square feet of Class A office space.
The properties were purchased by Shorenstein Properties in 2011 and are currently under renovation, with Twitter expecting to move in once the renovations are completed around mid-2014.
Andy Poppink of Jones Lang LaSalle's Palo Alto office, David Churton and Travis James of Jones Lang LaSalle's San Francisco office and David Johnson of Jones Lang LaSalle's Chicago office represented Twitter in lease negotiations. Jim Collins and Tom McDonnell provided in-house representation for the landlord.
