Transwestern Taps Burback to Build IE Team

Firm Hires New EVP/Managing Director
September 25, 2012
Transwestern has hired industry veteran David Burback as executive vice president and managing director, tasked with spearheading the expansion of the firm's brokerage service in the Inland Empire region.

Before Transwestern, Burback served as executive vice president and managing director for Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, where he managed the company's Ontario and San Gabriel Valley offices. He also worked at the former Grubb & Ellis as national industrial practice group leader, providing management and support to industrial professionals nationwide.

An Inland Empire native with more than 30 years in the industry, Burback "will play a crucial role as we actively recruit industrial, office and retail brokers consequently growing our capabilities in the Inland Empire," according to George Garfield, president of Transwestern's West Region.

Transwestern's expansion in Southern California is part of a larger national and global growth initiative. The firm has opened offices in Seattle, San Jose and Walnut Creek, CA so far this year, and established an international alliance with BNP Paribas Real Estate. Transwestern now has 32 offices across the U.S., overseeing a leasing and property management portfolio of 271 million square feet.
