|Carleton Riser has been named to the newly created position of president of Transwestern Development Co. to lead the firm in an aggressive expansion of its operations and locations.|
Planning what it calls an "an aggressive operational and geographic expansion" of its development services line, Transwestern has promoted Carleton Riser to president of Transwestern Development Co.
Riser, who previously served as managing director at Transwestern's development subsidiary, has 18 years of experience in property development. According to Transwestern CEO Larry P. Heard, the new executive position was created to facilitate expansion into new markets as well as provide leadership for all of Transwestern Development Co.’s activities.
Transwestern Development Co. currently has offices in Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio, Texas; Atlanta; Denver; Chicago; Washington, D.C.; and Southern California. The firm plans to open development offices in several markets on the east and west coasts.
Riser joined Transwestern in 2007 and was previously responsible for development and acquisition activities in Houston and Dallas and other selected markets. Prior to joining Transwestern, he was a development partner with The Morgan Group, where he oversaw a $300 million multifamily development pipeline.
Previously, Riser was a development manager for Hines from 1998 to 2005 with involvement in all areas of the investment and development process for several high rise office projects and two urban hotel developments. Before that position, he was an acquisitions manager for The Archon Group.
