Trent Germano has joined the Atlanta office of Transwestern as managing director of development for the Southeast.
Seeking to capitalize on the early recovery cycle in commercial real estate
, Transwestern said Germano will lead the firm's efforts to pursue development opportunities in Atlanta and other Southeast markets, including office, mixed-use and residential projects both on a speculative basis and build-to-suits.
Germano joins Transwestern after spending 22 years at Carter, where he was engaged in the development of more than 30 million square feet of office, retail, mixed-use, industrial, medical office, educational and sports facility projects. He joined the real estate company in 1988 as vice president and was ultimately promoted to vice chairman.
Most recently, Germano led the development of The Banks, a 4.8 million-square-foot, mixed-use development in downtown Cincinnati.
"Trent has a proven track record of delivering value for investment partners and clients," said Carleton Riser, Transwestern managing director. "He’s a savvy negotiator and effective leader, and we are thrilled to have him leading Transwestern’s development position in the Southeast."
The move is a homecoming of sorts for Germano, who earned master’s degrees in both civil engineering and city planning from Georgia Institute of Technology.
