The Real Estate Council of Austin (RECA) tapped Ward Tisdale to lead the 1,600-member business association as its president.
In the past 13 years, Tisdale has occupied high-profile communications and public affair positions at Advanced Micro Devices. Tisdale has also spent time as the communications director for the Texas Association of Health Plans.
Tisdale plans to facilitate conversation on how much good the commercial real estate
industry does for the area and encourage more regional involvement and growing membership. He will manage a staff of five people and an annual budget of $1.3 million.
Established in 1991, RECA is a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization to nearly 1,600 commercial real estate professionals representing the top leaders in the Central Texas business community. RECA's mission is to be a resource and advocate for the interests of the real estate industry and to promote and sustain the Greater Austin region.
