ThoughtWorks Expands, Relocates to Aon Center

Consulting Firm Moves From West Loop to Landmark East Loop Skyscraper
December 26, 2006
ThoughtWorks Inc., an information technology consulting firm, has expanded and relocated its headquarters from the West Loop to the East Loop.

ThoughtWorks vacated 45,000 square feet at 651 W. Washington Blvd. in favor of 50,620 square feet on the 25th and 26th floor in the Aon Center, subleasing the fully furnished space for seven years from Ineos Americas LLC.

The Aon Center is a 2.6 million-square-foot, 83-story landmark office building at 200 E. Randolph St. It was built in 1972 as the Standard Oil Building and renamed the Aon Center in 2001. Aon Corp. anchors the building along with DDB Chicago, Jones Lang LaSalle Americas, and Kirkland & Ellis.

Mark Gunderson of Jones Lang LaSalle handled the deal for the landlord, Wells Fargo Real Estate Funds. Scott Kulberg and Joe Learner of Studley represented ThoughtWorks.
