Jonathan J. Dean has joined Helmsley Spear as senior vice president and director of leasing, in addition to his continued responsibilities at Swig Equities. The announcement comes from Kent M. Swig, president of both firms.
In his new role at Helmsley Spear, Dean will manage and supervise leasing activity of all commercial office brokers for Helmsley Spear. At Swig he holds the title of director of commercial leasing.
"Jonathan is an extremely talented real estate professional who has been an active player in commercial real estate
in New York City for over 25 years," said Swig. "He has worked on a number of transactions involving Swig Equities’ properties since 1999, and has knowledge of Helmsley Spear, our brokers and the marketplace, which makes him extremely valuable in his new role with Helmsley Spear."
Before joining Swig Equities, Dean served as managing director of leasing at Jack Resnick & Sons, where he handled leasing and tenant relations for nine office buildings totaling 3.5 million square feet. While there, he completed 35 lease transactions totaling more than 620,000 square feet. Dean began his career at Cushman & Wakefield, where he leased in excess of 2.8 million square feet in over 400 transactions.
Dean earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Richmond.
