Former Cushman & Wakefield Brokers Join Recently Established Fourth L.A. Region Office
Avison Young's newly opened office in downtown Los Angeles has received a major infusion of talent, bringing aboard a seven-member office brokerage team.
Ted Simpson, Jacob Bobek and Scott Steuber (pictured, from left) join Avison Young as principals effective immediately, according to Chris Cooper, Avison Young principal and managing director of the Canada-based company's Southern California region.
Simpson also becomes managing director of the company’s Downtown L.A. office, in charge of overseeing the firm's operations in the key downtown market, servicing clients and growing the firm’s L.A. business.
Michael Ma also joins the office as a vice president, along with Scott Donaghe and Jeff Vertun as associates and Edward Resetar as marketing coordinator.
The team was most recently with Cushman & Wakefield’s Downtown L.A. office and the addition further expands Avison Young’s Southern California corporate-occupier services business.
Cooper noted that the company has built strong momentum in Southern California over the past year and a half with a number of acquisitions and hires.
During his nearly 20 years with Cushman Realty Corp. and Cushman & Wakefield, Simpson represented tenants occupying several downtown towers, including Ernst and Young, California Bank and Trust, Citicorp, and most recently, China Trust.
Avison Young has grown from 11 to 43 offices in 35 markets and from 300 to more than 1,100 real estate professionals across Canada and the U.S. over the last four years. The company opened its first L.A. office in August 2011 followed by a second office four months later through the acquisition of Ramsey-Shilling
Commercial Real Estate Services, Inc.
In September 2012, Avison Young acquired Starrpoint Commercial Partners, Inc. and opened a third L.A.-area office in Santa Monica. It opened the fourth L.A. office in downtown L.A. and a new office in Irvine, CA, in November.
Effective March 1, Avison Young’s Downtown L.A. office will be relocating to 555 South Flower St., Suite 3200.
