Safavieh to Triple Footprint in Savannah, GA with New 1.1 Million-SF E-Commerce Fulfillment Center

Cushman & Wakefield to Develop $60 Million Facility Within Savannah River International Trade Park
August 17, 2017
An international home furnishings brand out of Long Island has drafted plans for a new 1.1 million-square-foot e-commerce fulfillment center to serve the southeast U.S.

Safavieh will invest $60 million for its new facility, which Cushman & Wakefield will develop within the Savannah River International Trade Park in Savannah, GA. The complex is scheduled to deliver in late 2018 and is expected to create 200 new jobs upon its completion.

Bob Robers, senior director of Cushman & Wakefield's e-commerce fulfillment practice group in Atlanta, represented Safavieh in its acquisition of the land and development of the site. Bradley Migdal of Cushman & Wakefield's Chicago office and Carol Henderson of the firm’s Atlanta office arranged economic incentives for the development.

“Savannah is strategically located to facilitate throughput of Safavieh’s imported goods and fulfillment needs,” Robers said. “Safavieh already operates more than 500,000 square feet of warehousing in Savannah, and this investment will more than triple their presence.”

Brittany Holtzclaw, director of logistics, energy, agribusiness and food at the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) represented the global commerce division in collaboration with the Savannah Economic Development Authority and Georgia Power.
