Ramco-Gershenson Names Former Rouse CEO as President, Chief Executive

Brian Harper to Take Over as Chief Executive of Retail REIT on June 15
April 13, 2018
Farmington Hills, MI-based Ramco-Gershenson Properties Trust (NYSE:RPT) has recruited Brian Harper to be its new president and chief executive officer, succeeding Dennis Gershenson. Harper will also join the shopping center REIT's board of trustees in a move expected to take effect by June 15.

Harper previously served as CEO of Rouse Properties, taking that post in September 2016 following several other executive positions within the company. Harper also previously was the senior vice president of leasing for General Growth Properties (NYSE: GGP).

Separately, RPT disclosed the resignations of Chief Operating Officer John Hendrickson and EVP and CFO Geoffrey Bedrosian. According to a filing, Bedrosian is moving to a Palo Alto, CA private real estate company and Hendrickson resigned "to pursue other interests."

CAO Raymond Merk will serve as Ramco-Gershenson's financial officer effective April 20.

Stephen R. Blank, current board chairman, announced Harper's selection following what he called a comprehensive search process that produced a field of highly-qualified candidates.

Ramco-Gershenson owns and manages town centers, urban-infill properties and neighborhood shopping centers in 13 states, predominantly in the southeast U.S. and Midwest. As of Dec. 31, the company owned an interest and managed in a portfolio of 56 shopping centers and joint ventures that was more than 93% leased.
