Pine Tree has recruited former Phillips Edison CIO Hal Scudder to bolster its national retail real estate acquisitions platform as CIO of the Northbrook, IL-based firm.
As CIO of Phillips Edison, Scudder oversaw the acquisition and disposition of more than 300 shopping centers for an aggregate value of nearly $5 billion. He was also involved in asset management and raising institutional equity.
Prior to Phillips Edison, the 30-year industry veteran served as a principal with Michigan-based private equity group The Anderson Group, and as CFO of regional mall owner The Taubman Co. (NYSE:
TCO).
Scudder holds an MBA and another master's degree in city planning from the University of Pennsylvania, as well as a bachelor's degree from Yale University.
