Novavax, Inc. recently signed 12-year leases for 74,209 SF in two Gaithersburg, MD properties. They will be taking 53,000 SF in 20 Firstfield Road for Lab and Manufacturing space, and 21,209 SF in 22 Firstfield Road to serve as the company's new headquarters.
Novavax, Inc. is in the business of developing vaccines for infectious diseases worldwide. They are currently located at 9920 Belward Campus Drive in Rockville, and it is not yet known whether they will completely vacate this facility when they move to Gaithersburg in mid-2012.
Both 20 and 22 Firstfield are owned by Alexandria Real Estate Equities, a California-based company. Gaithersburg is known for its mass of biotech and pharmaceutical companies.
