| Joe Stettinius has been selected to lead Cassidy Turley as CEO. |
Joseph Stettinius, Jr., was named chief executive officer of Cassidy Turley by the company's board of directors effective immediately. He succeeds Mark Burkhart, who will serve as an ongoing advisor to the company.
Based in the firm's Washington, DC office, Stettinius has served as president of Cassidy Turley since the company's inception. A respected industry executive, he has held a number of leadership roles for several major firms over his more than 25 years in
commercial real estate, including 13 years at Trammell Crow, prior to its acquisition by CBRE Group.
Before becoming president of the newly formed Cassidy Turley, he was CEO of predecessor firm Cassidy & Pinkard Colliers from March 2007 to February 2010. Prior to that, he was a senior managing director of CBRE Group following its acquisition of Trammell Crow, where he served as Area Director for Trammell Crow's Mid-Atlantic services business. He also held executive positions at Equity Office Properties Trust and Jones Lang Wootton, a predecessor firm to Jones Lang LaSalle.
"After 36 years in the commercial real estate industry, with over 20 years as CEO of Cassidy Turley and one of its predecessor firms, Mark decided to step down as CEO," said Wally Pinkard, Cassidy Turley's chairman, in a prepared statement. "The company has met its growth and development goals ahead of schedule and we are well poised to meet our next set of strategic objectives."
Stettinius said he plans to continue the growth strategy set out by his predecessor, stating: "We expect to enter additional strategic markets, as well as enhance our capabilities in existing markets in order to meet our goals."
As the CEO of St. Louis-based Cassidy Turley Martin Tucker, Burkhart convinced eight regional commercial real estate firms to unify as a single company to form a national platform. The original firms comprising Cassidy Turley include Cassidy & Pinkard Colliers in Washington, DC, Colliers Turley Martin Tucker in the Midwest, Colliers ABR in New York City and Colliers Pinkard in Baltimore, Charlotte and Raleigh. Joining them in January were BT Commercial, formerly affiliated with NAI, and CPS in Northern California, formerly affiliated with CORFAC; BRE Commercial in Southern California and Phoenix, formerly affiliated with Grubb & Ellis, and Colliers Houston & Co. of New Jersey. Several more firms joined Cassidy Turley since then.
As a result of the firm's growth strategy, Burkhart said that today Cassidy Turley is positioned as a national commercial real estate services firm that successfully competes for assignments from major clients throughout the U.S.
"I am very proud of my role during Cassidy Turley's integration and initial success," said Burkhart. "I have been fortunate to oversee a period of phenomenal growth in the company, and we are on the cusp of the next stage of evolution. Joe is an accomplished leader with broad experience in some of the most successful commercial real estate firms. With the support of the strong leadership team in place, he is ideally positioned to lead the continued growth and success of Cassidy Turley."
