Retail specialist Jessica Curtis has joined Newmark Grubb Knight Frank as a senior managing director in the firm's Greenwich, CT office. In her new role, Curtis will focus on representing expanding national and regional clients as part of NGKF's retail services platform.
Curtis brings more than 12 years of experience, most recently serving as an associate director at Cushman & Wakefield, where she handled the marketing and leasing of the $250 million Waypointe mixed-use project in Norwalk. That project will include 70,000 square feet of street-level retail and restaurant space under 346 residential units. Before that she worked at Retail Portfolio Solutions and Gordon Group Holdings.
Throughout her career, Curtis has specialized in shopping center and restaurant leasing for landlords and tenants. She exclusively represents Barteca Restaurants, a Connecticut-based restaurant group that owns Barcelona Wine Bar and Bartaco. Over the past five years, the restaurant group has grown from six locations in Connecticut to 20 existing and soon-to-open locations from Boston to Atlanta.
"We've seen an increased investment in retail brands by private equity clients that boosts the demand for experienced retail brokers to service this work both locally and across the country," said James Ritman, executive vice president and managing director at NGKF.
Curtis is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and the New England Culinary Group. She earned her bachelor's degree in media, society and the arts from the State University of New York in Purchase.
