Monday’s Twin Towers Earn LEED Gold, Wins TOBY

July 13, 2012
Monday Properties' two trophy, Class A office buildings known as the Twin Towers in Roslyn, VA, received LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. The green building recognition comes as a result of Monday working with its tenants to implement sustainable operating efficiencies.

The 31-story structures also received The Outstanding Building of the Year Award from the Apartment and Office Building Association (AOBA). They were honored in the category for buildings more than 1 million square feet for the Washington and Virginia metropolitan markets.

An adjacent office building at 1101 Wilson Blvd., which is owned by Monday, also received a TOBY for buildings between 250,000 and 499,999 square feet.

In leasing news, Monday inked two renewals and one new lease transaction at 1000 and 1100 Wilson Blvd. Atlantean, a global logistics and defense firm, signed a new lease for 1,506 square feet on the 27th floor at 1000 Wilson and the Department of Defense renewed its lease for 6,184 square feet on the 25th floor. At 1100 Wilson, the Department of Labor renewed its lease for 91,428 square feet on the 21st through 25th floors. Monday is also close to completing a few other deals in the Twin Towers, one of which includes a major renewal.
