Man Diesel & Turbo Takes 137,434 SF at New West Houston Business Park for North American HQ

German Diesel Engine Producer's Build-to-Suit Represents First Deal Signed at Planned 650-Acre Campus
March 9, 2018
Augsberg, Germany-based Man Diesel & Turbo has signed a deal to build its North American headquarters at the Twinwood business park located west of Houston in Brookshire, TX.

Expected to begin construction in the second quarter of 2018, the 137,434-square-foot build-to-suit will house 105,309 square feet of air-conditioned industrial space and 32,125 square feet of office space. The property is owned by the Welcome Group, a Houston-based commercial real estate developer, and will be designed and built by Houston-based KDW.

A multinational company that produces large-bore diesel engines and turbomachinery, Man Diesel & Turbo is the first tenant to sign on at the business park at Twinwood, a 650-acre campus to be developed as part of a 14,000-acre master-planned community owned by Houston businessman, Putera Sampoerna.

The company, which currently operates two locations in Houston and Deer Park, will consolidate those locations into its new purpose-built facility, which is scheduled to deliver in the second quarter of 2019.

Bob Berry and Jacob Bravo of Avison Young handled lease negotiations on behalf of MAN Diesel & Turbo, while Welcome Realty Advisors represented Welcome Group.

Katie Sandoval of Hancock Whitney Bank provided acquisition and construction financing for the project, with Vince Yokom of the Waller County Economic Development Partnership and Waller County Judge Trey Duhon also collaborating on the development.
