Hilton Hotels on Monday opened its new headquarters in Fairfax County, VA, completing a cross-country move from its longtime home in Beverly Hills.
“The opening of our new global headquarters marks the beginning of a new and exciting chapter in our company’s rich history,” Christopher Nassetta, president and CEO of Hilton Hotels Corp., said in a statement.
Hilton is occupying 120,000 square feet on more than three floors at Park Place II, a newly constructed office building owned and developed by B.F. Saul Co. in the trendy Tysons Corner neighborhood.
The 11-story building delivered in December and last week became the first Tysons-area building to earn LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, B.F. Saul Co. said. The sustainable design and construction of the property is thought to have played well with Hilton, which pledged last year to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 20 percent over the next five years.
Hilton signed a 10-year lease for the space
in March. The building’s other tenants, Chevy Chase Bank and the law firm Hogan & Hartson, each occupy a single floor. Cushman & Wakefield is marketing the balance of the space for lease.
Hilton, one of the world’s largest lodging companies, has more than 3,300 hotels in 74 countries and employs 135,000 people globally. Private equity firm Blackstone acquired Hilton in a take-private deal valued at $26 billion in 2007.
