Peter Hauser has joined Avison Young as a principal in the firm's Irvine, CA office.

In his new role, Hauser will be overseeing and expanding the firm's multifamily practice throughout Southern California.

Hauser brings more than 34 years of commercial real estate experience, having most recently served as a senior director with Berkadia Real Estate Advisors (formerly Hendricks & Partners), where he was directly involved in closing more than $1.5 billion worth of investment real estate transactions over the past 10 years alone. He previously held leadership and brokerage positions at Charles Dunn Company, Lincoln Brokerage Company, Jamboree Realty Corporation, The Hoelscher Company and Iliff, Thorn and Co.

Hauser also brings his team, which includes Matthew Hauser as an associate and Ryan Brunswick as an analyst. The team worked together at Berkadia.

"We couldn’t be more pleased to have Peter, Matthew and Ryan join our organization and play an integral role in the continued growth of our Southern California multifamily investment sales practice," said Christopher Cooper, principal and managing director for Avison Young's Southern California region. "The addition of this team to Avison Young is a tremendous endorsement of our commitment to provide high-level, value-added capital markets and multi-family investment sales services to our clients. With Peter and his team located in our Orange County office, coupled with the Peter Sherman team in our West Los Angeles office, we will have a terrific go-to-market multi-family platform throughout Southern California."

The younger Hauser was an associate director at Berkadia, and before that was a professional baseball player with the Baltimore Orioles and Minnesota Twins, which drafted him in the seventh round in 2010 while he was attending the University of San Diego. Brunswick was a transaction analyst at Berkadia, specializing in multifamily investments sales. He played football with MIT before attending Chapman University studying business administration with a focus on finance.
