David Oropeza and Joseph Brecher were appointed the new managing directors of Gebroe-Hammer Associates by company president Ken Uranowitz. As one of the Northeast’s most active multifamily investment brokerage firms, Gebroe-Hammer looks to continue its success within New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania with the new additions to the management team at its Livingston, NJ office.
Oropeza joined Gebroe-Hammer in 1986 and for 26 years has been one of the firm’s most successful sales brokers. Oropeza has emerged as an expert of inner-city markets, having managed the firm’s activity throughout Northern New Jersey. His career includes the sale of $2 billion in commercial real estate
including 20,000 multifamily units. Oropeza recently organized and hosted the East Orange Multifamily Investment Roundtable, a meeting and informal exchange by some of the most prominent apartment-building owners from the city.
Brecher will join Oropeza as a managing director, having joined the firm in 2001 as an area sales associate. Having managed the firm’s multifamily investment sales in Central New Jersey and the Philadelphia region, Brecher rapidly rose in the company to vice president in 2003. Brecher was then promoted to senior vice president in 2005 and executive vice president in 2008. Throughout his career Brecher has closed more than $2 billion in multifamily transactions along the east coast. Brecher is a two-time Morris Hammer Salesperson of the Year, and a three-time Deal of the Year honoree.
