Cushman & Wakefield Recruits Second Former Transwestern RBJ Partner

Robert B. Richards to Serve as Firm's Executive Vice Chairman
February 6, 2018
Michael Joyce will have some familiar company at Cushman & Wakefield.

A week after hiring Joyce as vice chairman of its downtown Boston leasing team, Cushman & Wakefield has brought on his former partner and Richards, Barry, Joyce (RBJ) & Partners co-founder Robert B. Richards as its executive vice chairman.

A heavyweight Boston broker for more than 25 years, Richards has negotiated deals on behalf of a diverse roster of global landlords and tenants including Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School. In 2001, Richards, along with Joyce and seven other partners, launched full-service real estate firm RBJ Partners, which sold to Houston-based Transwestern in 2013.

“Cushman & Wakefield has an undeniable growth story. They’ve emerged with scale, depth, a leading position, and an unmatched bias-for-action,” said Richards. “I am drawn to the firm’s client-first focus, which has always been my top priority. After spending time with their local, national, and international leadership, I know we share a vision for unequalled client service.”

A graduate of Dartmouth College, Richards is a past recipient of the CoreNet Global Service Provider of the Year Award for New England, and previously worked as on air sportscaster for CNN Sports and CNN Headline News in Atlanta from 1981-1985.
