Following last week's appointment of Brian Berry to senior vice president of the Eastern region
, Atlanta-based Columbia Property Trust (NYSE: CXP
) named David Dowdney as its senior vice president of the Western region.
In his new role, Dowdney will establish a regional office in San Francisco and supervise all of CXP's transaction and investment management endeavors in the western United States.
A 20-year industry veteran, Dowdney spent the last five years as the western regional manager of asset management for GE Capital Real Estate, where he led a 20-person team in overseeing all leasing, asset management, and capital markets activities for the firm's 15 million-square-foot office and research & development portfolio. He has also led asset management and real estate strategy and transaction activities as a vice president of corporate services for JLL and later as a vice president of portfolio management for Divco West Properties.
Dowdney earned a bachelor's degree from UCLA and an MBA in finance and real estate from the University of California, Berkeley.
