Colliers Beefs up Quebec Operations with Acquisition of Landmark Properties

Global Firm's Purchase of Asset Advisory Services and Real Estate Management Company to Add 30 Professionals in Montreal
September 12, 2018
Global commercial real estate services organization Colliers International Group Inc. has acquired Montreal-based Landmark Properties in a deal that will add a team of 30 professionals.

A market-leading asset advisory services and real estate management firm, Landmark provides a number of real estate services including asset management, property management, leasing and lease administration, and project management services to local, regional, and national clients.

No financial terms were disclosed.

For Colliers, the Toronto-based real estate firm said the deal "significantly" expands its operations in Quebec and aligns the company's national asset advisory services and real estate management business.

“Landmark professionals have deep local market knowledge in Quebec and by augmenting our existing operations we now offer a complete asset advisory services and real estate management solution across Canada,” said John Duda, executive vice president of real estate management services for Colliers in Canada.

The acquisition of Landmark comes roughly five months after Colliers' April purchase of Colliers International Winnipeg, one of the leading full-service commercial real estate advisory firms in Western Canada. At the time of the acquisition, David Bowden, chief executive of Colliers International in Canada, noted the investment would expand Colliers' company-owned operations in the region and allow the firm to better streamline its services throughout Western Canada.

"Quebec is an important and growing market in Canada and home to several of Canada's largest institutional real estate investors," noted Bowden, in a statement on the Landmark acquisition. "The acquisition of Landmark builds upon our recent acquisition in Winnipeg, highlighting our continued investment in high-quality, enterprising professionals across Canada."

Luc Sicotte, president of Landmark Properties, said the size, capital and established infrastructure of Colliers' Canadian and global platforms would better position the company to serve increasingly complex needs of its property investor clients.
