Scott Joins Bradford Commercial as SVP

ARA appointed Debbie Laycock as managing director of its Dallas-based national seniors housing group. She specializes in investment sales, investment banking, and debt and equity finance.

Laycock has spent more than 25 years in the banking industry, which includes a decade of seniors housing lending experience. She formerly served as managing director of Guaranty Bank’s Healthcare Finance Group. Her tenure at BBVA Compass Bank included managing the REO group where she oversaw the disposition of more than 1,500 assets across 26 states.

Atlanta-based ARA is a privately held, full-service investment advisory firm that focuses exclusively on the brokerage, financing and capital sourcing of multihousing properties.

Levine Returns to Studley as Managing Director

Stephen Levine re-joined Studley as a managing director, where he will provide office and industrial tenant representation in the South Florida market.

Levine returns after leading the office division for Turnberry Associates, where he oversaw a national portfolio in excess of 2 million square feet of office space across multiple markets.

A member of the Florida Bar Association, National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), Florida Banker’s Association and South Florida Office Brokers Association, Levine counts the South Florida offices of Norwegian Cruise Lines, Amadeus, Univita Home Health Care and Wells Fargo Advisors among his clients.

Gibbons Named President of Summit Commercial

Summit Commercial Real Estate, an emerging major player in the region's commercial real estate market, has brought in longtime Washington real estate executive and broker Petch Gibbons as president to help build the locally based company.

Gibbons will serve a key leadership role, having management and recruiting responsibilities, as well as keeping his hand in the brokerage business.

With more than 30 years of experience, primarily serving Washington-based firms, Gibbons most recently was an executive director with Cushman & Wakefield. His former roles include serving as president of The J Street Cos. in Washington following his tenure as president and CEO of GVA Advantis and its predecessor, Advantis Real Estate Services.


BOSTON, RETAIL
Retail Expert Joins HFF Boston as Managing Director

HFF recruited James Koury as a senior managing director in its Boston office. The retail investment sales specialist will help lead the company’s national retail investment sale platform with an emphasis on the northeast region.

The 26-year commercial real estate veteran has completed more than $3 billion in shopping center deals totaling 16 million square feet. He joined HFF from CBRE, where was an executive vice president and partner. The Boston College graduate was also a managing director at Jones Lang LaSalle and an executive vice president at Spaulding & Slye Colliers.




JACKSONVILLE, SOUTH FLORIDA, NATIONAL
Avison Young Continues U.S. Rollout with Latest Expansion into FL

Toronto, ON-based Avison Young, Canada's largest independently owned commercial real estate services company, has continued its U.S. expansion, entering the Florida market by adding 30 members from Flagler Real Estate Services LLC, a leading brokerage and property management company in South Florida.

Avison Young said its new Florida operations will be headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, with branch offices in Boca Raton and Miami. The company now employs more than 1,000 real estate professionals and the expansion adds nearly 3.4 million square feet to Avison Young's property management portfolio, which now tops approximately 50 million square feet.

FRES is the service arm of Flagler, one of Florida's oldest commercial real estate companies. Eight former FRES brokers are now newly minted principals at Avison Young, including: S. Pike Rowley and Keith O’Donnell, considered two of the "deans" of South Florida commercial real estate brokerage, each with more than 30 years of experience.

Also joining Avison Young are the following brokers from FRES: David Bateman, David Duckworth, Van Barron, Brett Rowley and Jonathan Senn.

Rowley (pictured), previously president of FRES, will become managing director of Avison Young's Florida region.


PITTSBURGH
MacDonald Joins NGKF

Thomas MacDonald joined Newmark Grubb Knight Frank's Pittsburgh office as senior managing director. His experience includes 22 years of office leasing, strategic planning, and investment sales both in western and central Pennsylvania.

MacDonald worked previously with CBRE, where he was a top producer for 14 years. There he was responsible for a number of high profile projects, including the Liberty Center Office Tower and the Cranberry Woods Campus.

Schneiderman To Lead Newest DTZ Office in Boca Raton

Bob A. Schneiderman, SIOR has been appointed executive vice president at DTZ's newly-opened office in Boca Raton, FL. Schneiderman brings more than 26 years of experience in all facets of commercial real estate, and will be responsible for building cooperation in the local CRE marketplace while expanding the DTZ business lines throughout southeast Florida.

Schneiderman spent the past 16 years with NAI/Merin Hunter Codman, Inc., specializing in corporate services and tenant representation. He has been involved in more than 2 million square feet of commercial leases valued at approximately $750 million. His client list includes Charles Schwab, G4S Secure Solutions, Comcast and Oasis Outsourcing.

Before joining NAI, where he received numerous awards and honors including the NAI Chairman’s award, NAI's Gold Club, and recognition as the individual who fostered the most business growth between NAI firms, Schneiderman served as managing director with Julien J. Studley in McLean, VA.

DTZ, a UGL company, is a global property services firm supplying occupiers and investors with agency brokerage and integrated property and management services in addition to capital, investment and asset management and consultation. DTZ employs 47,000 people in 208 offices across 52 countries.


DALLAS
Scott Joins Bradford Commercial as SVP

Stephen Scott, CCIM joined Bradford Commercial as a senior vice president of investments. Scott will focus on acquisitions, developments and raising equity capital for Bradford clients.

A former broker, investor and company president, he brings with him more than 38 years of commercial real estate experience in the Dallas-Fort Worth market.

Prior to joining Bradford, Scott was the president of Kinsman Equity Partners, a Dallas-based firm focused primarily on parking property investments. He began his real estate career in the retail division of Henry S. Miller.


NORTHERN NEW JERSEY
Colliers Hires Mirliss as Executive VP

Colliers International New Jersey expanded its brokerage team with the addition of Richard Mirliss as an executive managing director. The seasoned professional’s experience includes investment sales and client representation in northern New Jersey.

Before joining Colliers, he spent eight years serving as a managing director at Newmark Grubb Knight Frank. Mirliss also served as Citigroup's vice president of business development.

His most recent deals of note include Quality Technology Solutions’ 15-year, 127,000-square-foot renewal in Jersey City, and the repositions of Plaza 10 in Jersey City and 101 Wood Ave. in Metro Park.


CLEVELAND, COLUMBUS
Marcus & Millichap Promotes Glass to National Director

Michael L. Glass was appointed national director of Marcus & Millichap’s National Manufactured Home Communities Group. Glass is currently the vice president and regional manager of the firm’s Cleveland and Columbus offices.

Glass joined the company 11 years ago as a sales intern. After completing 16 deals in his first two years as an agent, he was named an associate in 2005. The following year, he joined the management team as sales manager in Chicago. Glass was named regional manager of the Cleveland office in 2007 and became the regional manager of the Columbus office two years later.




TAMPA/ST. PETERSBURG
Cassidy Turley Promotes Ruffner

Cassidy Turley Commercial Real Estate Services in Tampa, FL, named Ron Ruffner as a senior vice president. Ruffner played an instrumental role in establishing Cassidy Turley's office in Tampa, and has recently completed a major expansion and renewal of the headquarters for OSI Restaurant Partners.

Ruffner, previously a vice president at Carter & Associates, is a 25-year veteran of the commercial real estate industry. He was responsible for directing the leasing efforts of approximately 1.5 million square feet of Class A office space at Corporate Center, International Plaza and Hidden River Corporate Park.


BOSTON
Northeast PCG Opens Framingham Office

Northeast Private Client Group, an investment sales brokerage firm, opened a new office in Framingham, MA, and named Colin Moynihan as regional manager of the expanded operation. The new location will service commercial real estate owners and investors in the greater Boston MetroWest market. It will complement Northeast PCG’s offices in White Plains, NY, Bridgeport and Hartford, CT.

Moynihan is a real estate investment specialist who focuses on the financial services sector. He said his team has more than 24 deals under contract in the Boston area.

Moynihan’s background includes two years as a sales and account executive at HEAD USA and two years in institutional sales at LGVFM, a division of IB Group LLC. He joined Northeast PCG last year.


WESTCHESTER/SOUTH CONNECTICUT
CBRE Adds Carcaterra as SVP

CBRE welcomed (pictured from far left to right) Brian Carcaterra as a senior vice president, Michael McCall as a vice president and Peter Hansen as a senior associate to its Stamford office. Carcaterra, McCall and Hansen will continue to provide services to the northern suburbs of New York City, as they had done at Newmark Grubb Knight Frank.

Carcaterra began his career as an analyst at Morgan Stanley before joining NGKF, where he represented a number of notable clients and properties over the years, including The Exchange at Westchester, a 14-building, 1.6-million-square-foot, Class A office park.

McCall began his career in commercial real estate at NGKF, covering the Westchester/Fairfield market. Prior to this, Michael attended the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

Hansen also began his career at NGKF, covering the Westchester/Fairfield market.
