The following companies announced personnel moves this week: Dream Industrial REIT, JLL, Clune Construction, Cushman & Wakefield, McCraney Property Co., Seagate Properties, Madison Realty Capital and Phillips Edison & Co.

Dream Industrial REIT Selects Pauls to Oversee US Expansion

PaulsDream Industrial REIT (TSX: DIR.UN), a Toronto-based real estate investment trust that oversees 16.1 million square feet of industrial space across Canada, has selected Brian Pauls to succeed Brent Chapman as the company's CEO, effective January 1, 2018. Pauls will oversee the Trust's operations and provide leadership as Dream Industrial REIT executes its strategic plan to expand into U.S. markets while simultaneously growing its Canadian portfolio.

Pauls brings more than 23 years of commercial real estate experience in both the U.S. and Canada. As a senior member of the management team at Denver-based Pauls Corp., Pauls helped develop 5 million square feet of commercial real estate in the U.S. and an additional 3 million square feet in Canada.

JLL Expands New Jersey Office Team

GreinerRecineJLL boosted its New Jersey office team with four new hires in Parsippany, NJ. Timothy Greiner and Frank Recine joined JLL New Jersey as executive managing directors. Greiner has also been named agency lead and will be in charge of all agency leasing efforts for JLL in New Jersey. Both previously served as executive managing directors at Newmark Knight Frank (NKF) with Recine being the youngest principal to serve at their previous firm.

Blake Goodman joined his new firm as executive vice president. Goodman was previously a senior managing director at NKF. Brendan McBride assumes the role of senior vice president. At NKF, McBride served as director.


Clune Construction Promotes Walker, Dwyer to Expand Business

DwyerWalkerAnticipating continued business growth for its New York office, national contractor Clune Construction Company has promoted Ben Walker to executive managing director and president of the New York region and Tommy Dwyer to executive managing director of the firm's New York region. Walker will oversee the office and Dwyer will work with him to run it.

Walker began at Clune as an intern 20 years ago and assumed management responsibilities of the New York office in 2013, one year after it opened. Dwyer was formerly the managing director for New York and brings more than 35 years of experience working in New York construction.


Thomas Returns to Cushman & Wakefield

ThomasEric Thomas, a real estate professional with 20 years of experience, has returned to Cushman & Wakefield as an executive director in its Midtown New York City office.

Thomas most recently served as a tenant rep at Cresa, a national tenancy advisory firm. Before that he worked at Cassidy Turley until the firm's parent company, DTZ, completed its $2 billion merger with Cushman & Wakefield in 2015. His career also includes stints at Colliers ABR and Savills Studley.

Williams Joins McCraney Property Co. as Principal, Managing Director

WilliamsDavid Williams has been named principal - managing director at McCraney Property Co., a private regional industrial real estate investment, development and management firm headquartered in West Palm Beach, FL.

Working out of the firm's newly-established Charlotte, NC office, Williams will source, underwrite and oversee development projects through all phases in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. He joins the firm after having most recently served as a managing director with GRH Development Resources.


Seagate Properties Promotes Three to Principal

JohnsonPentlandDriscollSeagate Properties, Inc., a full-service real estate investment and operating company that targets value-add and opportunistic commercial and multifamily investments in the San Francisco Bay Area, has promoted three of its employees to principals.

Brian Johnson joined Seagate in 2005 and most recently served as its vice president of acquisitions. Before that the 15-year industry veteran served as an associate with CM Realty. The longest tenured member of the three, Erick Pentland formerly served as director of leasing after joining the firm in 2003 from Lowe Enterprises and JLL. Denise Driscoll, a licensed CPA of more than 25 years, is being promoted after most recently serving as Seagate's controller.


Friedman to Bolster Lending Opportunities for MRC

FriedmanWith 27 years of commercial real estate lending experience, Aryeh Friedman has come aboard at New York-based Madison Realty Capital (MRC), a private equity firm that focuses on middle-market real estate equity and debt investments. As the firm's new managing director of originations, Friedman will scout the middle markets for opportunities in loan origination.

Before joining Madison Realty, Friedman led Eastern U.S. originations for Romspen Investment Corp., a Canada-based real estate debt fund. While there he originated more than $500 million in loans. Prior to working at Romspen, Friedman worked as president of Park Avenue Funding in partnership with real estate developer David Lichtenstein. Friedman entered the capital-markets side of commercial real estate in the late 1990's, working for Ellington Capital, a hedge fund that initiating a bridge lending division.


Phillips Edison Bolsters National Accounts Team

ConwayPhillips Edison & Co., a national organization that specializes in the ownership and operation of shopping centers, named long-time employee Mike Conway to vice president of national accounts and retailer partnerships, where he will lead its national accounts, renewals and research teams. Conway has been with PECO since the early 2000's, previously serving as vice president of leasing as well as vice president of national accounts and retention.

In conjunction with the promotion, Stuart Shapiro, who managed property leasing for the company’s Southeast portfolio, has been elevated to fill the newly-created role of senior director of national accounts. Additionally, former leasing agent Ryan Mitzel has been promoted to director of national accounts for the East.
