Chicorelli Appointed Partner at Principle

Principle Real Estate Consultants has appointed Michael J. Chicorelli, MAI of Elkridge, MD to partner. In this role, he will conduct commercial appraisal work, assist with day-to-day company operations and help drive continued growth for the recently launched firm.

Chicorelli brings more than 10 years of appraisal industry experience to the firm. Prior to joining Principle, he served as a senior appraiser with Valbridge Property Advisors | Lipman Frizzell & Mitchell.

Seltzer Joins CBC Advisors' NYC Office

CBC Advisors hired Matthew Seltzer as executive managing director. Based in Manhattan, Seltzer will focus on landlord and tenant representation in the New Jersey and suburban New York markets. He brings with him agency leasing assignments for 50 Chestnut Ridge Rd. and the 10 Independence Plaza office buildings located in the Northern New Jersey market.

Prior to joining CBC Advisors, Seltzer worked at Cushman & Wakefield, Pyramid Brokerage Company and Cassidy Turley. Seltzer graduated from the University of Delaware.


Friedman Hires Marchal as Senior Managing Director

Wesley Marchal has joined Friedman Integrated Real Estate Solutions as a senior managing director.

As the head of Friedman’s real estate services division, Marchal will provide administrative and operational support on behalf of the company's 16 million-square-foot portfolio and develop strategic initiatives at the corporate level to manage a number of Friedman’s larger client and partner relationships. The 15-year industry veteran was previously an executive at Osprey SA.

CBRE Taps Gage to Lead Expansion in SW Florida

CBRE, which currently has seven offices across the state, announced it is extending its brokerage and real estate advisory services to Southwest Florida, with a focus on agency leasing and property sales in Naples, Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Port Charlotte, and Bonita Springs.

Jeffrey Gage, a senior vice president with CBRE's Advisory and Transaction Services group, will oversee the firm's expansion in Collier and Lee counties, opening the global real estate firm's eighth office in Florida.


Signature Associates Taps Hamburger as SVP

John Hamburger has been hired by Signature Associates as a senior vice president within the firm's property / asset management division in Southfield, MI.

Hamburger joins Signature from Broder Sachse Real Estate Services, where he served as president and COO responsible for the day-to-day operations of the firm’s real estate services business including commercial and multifamily property management and oversight of its financial management. Hamburger holds a law degree from Emory University School of Law.

In Memoriam:
Jerome (Jerry) M. Cohen, prominent real estate executive and second-generation leader of Williams Real Estate Co. Inc., passed away last week at the age of 87. He had suffered from Alzheimer's disease.

In 1950, Cohen joined Williams Real Estate, the company founded by his father, Victor Cohen, in 1926. Cohen worked to expand the company's operations throughout New York City, adding office leasing while maintaining its strong presence in the city's loft and industrial markets. The company eventually became real estate investors, assembling a portfolio of more than a dozen commercial properties throughout Manhattan.


Nance Joins Capital Square as Managing Director

Charles Nance has been appointed managing director of Capital Square 1031. He will lead the sale of Capital Square’s 1031 / Delaware Statutory Trusts in the Mid-Atlantic region by utilizing three decades worth of experience as an estate and tax professional.

Prior to focusing exclusively on estate planning, Nance served as in-house counsel for a securities broker-dealer, a workout consultant, and developer of LIHTC housing. He previously served as a legislative assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives and as assistant to various elected officials.


McCoy Named Operations Manager at NewMark Merrill

Danaria Farris McCoy has joined NewMark Merrill Mountain States as division operations director. She will be based in the firm's Longmont, CO office. McCoy will supervise property management for the company's 2 million-square-foot portfolio of shopping centers.

Prior to joining NewMark Merrill, McCoy was vice president of property management and marketing at ServiceStar Development Co. A 15-year industry veteran, McCoy is an ICSC Certified Marketing Director (CMD), Certified Shopping Center Manager (CSM), and Certified Retail Property Executive (CRX).

Savills Studley Appoints Preskill Assistant Director

Isabel Preskill has joined Savills Studley as assistant director. She will be based in the firm's Chicago, IL office. In her new role, Preskill will be involved in business development and analyst support.

Preskill was previously at Quicket Solutions, a technology company providing solutions for law enforcement agencies. At Quicket Solutions she was responsible for marketing, sales and accounting. Preskill graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.


Bolin Transfers to Syska Hennessy's NoCal Office

Robert Bolin, senior principal with Syska Hennessy Group, has relocated to the firm's San Francisco location where he will continue to serve in a leadership role overseeing several major projects and supporting the overall operations for the office.

Bolin, a LEED Fellow and ASHRAE High Performance Design Professional with decades of engineering experience, has been with Syska Hennessy Group for 18 years, having previously served in both the firm's Chicago and Los Angeles locations.

Ethan Conrad Names Hopkins Retail VP

Ethan Conrad Properties (ECP) has hired Amy Hopkins as vice president of retail properties. Based in the firm's Sacramento, CA headquarters, Hopkins will work with Ethan Conrad to oversee ECP's Northern California retail portfolio.

Hopkins brings more than 25 years of industry experience to ECP, breaking into the industry with the former Grubb & Ellis before being named principal at Materus Commercial and most recently serving as vice president of retail real estate at JLL in San Francisco.


FCP Appoints Valentini VP of Development

Federal Capital Partners (FCP) has selected Matt Valentini to fill the newly-created positon of vice president of development, tasked with leading the private equity firm's development management team and its ground-up development and redevelopment initiatives.

Valentini spent the last 12 years with The JBG Cos., most recently as vice president of development management, where he led the redevelopment of the Wardman Park Marriott Hotel and the development of the Woodley apartment complex. Before that he was a member of Toll Brothers' homebuilding division in Northern Virginia.


Koontz Promoted to VP at Mid-America

Mid-America Real Estate Corp. has promoted Wes Koontz to vice president of the firm.

Koontz was originally with Mid -America from 2002-2005 and rejoined the firm in 2014. He is currently the net lease investment sales director and his track record has helped Mid-America in this sector in the Midwest. Prior to re-joining Mid-America, Koontz served as managing member of RCK Capital Investments for nearly five years. Koontz is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
