Avison Young Hires Carlo in Miami

Avison Young, Canada's largest independently-owned commercial real estate services company, has hired Daniel Carlo as a principal in the firm, and managing director of the company's Miami office. In his new role, Carlo will oversee the growth and development of the office by serving existing clients, building upon the capital markets platform, and managing the day-to-day operations.

The 23-year veteran of commercial real estate most recently served as principal with Miami-based Cullum Capital Group. He also held the senior managing director position at HFF in Miami. Carlo has a proven track record in the capital markets area for all property types, including sales, financing and joint ventures for institutional clients, private investors and developers.

Carlo is a member of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts and the Urban Land Institute (ULI). He holds an MBA from the University of North Carolina, and received his bachelor's degree at the U.S. Military Academy.

Jones Lang LaSalle Hires New CFO

Jones Lang LaSalle has appointed Christie Kelly to serve as its new chief financial officer based in the firm's Chicago headquarters.

Kelly, who served as executive vice president and chief financial officer for Indianapolis-based Duke, will fill the CFO position formerly held by Lauralee Martin, who had been promoted to CEO of JLL Americas back in January.

Kelly's previously served as senior vice president of the global real estate group at Lehman Brothers, as well as 20 years at General Electric in operational financial management positions in the United States, Europe, and Asia.


Burgen Joins Studley

Bob Burgen has joined global commercial real estate services firm Studley as a senior managing director in the firm's Tampa, FL office. In his new role, Burgen will focus on tenant representation for corporate and law firm clients in the Tampa Bay area.

Burgen's career in real estate spans several decades, including 17 years with CBRE where he served as a top broker representing tenants in Westshore, with a client list including Intermedia Communications, Xerox Corp., and 2nd Century Communications. Prior to joining Studley, Burgen owned and developed residential condominiums, and owns a long-standing retail business in the area.

"We are thrilled to have Bob Burgen as a part of the Tampa team," said Cheri O’Neil, senior vice president and branch manager of Studley’s Tampa office. "He brings a breadth of experience and expertise that will be a huge asset to the firm."


Solomon Promoted to VP at Marcus & Millichap

Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services has promoted Tony Solomon to vice president in the firm's West Los Angeles office on Olympic Blvd.

Solomon previously served as regional manager, a position he has held since 2011. He originally joined Marcus & Millichap in 1998 as an investment property specialist, and became a sales manager focusing on the LA market in 2000. He also has experience in multifamily sales, and held a position as a land-use consultant for a number of domestic oil companies.

"Tony brings extensive knowledge and experience to the position of vice president gained from his time as a successful sales agent and in his management roles with the firm," says John J. Kerin, president and chief executive officer. "He will continue to be a great resource for our clients and agents in Los Angeles and throughout Southern California."


Pschirer Joins Colliers International as Senior Director

Frank Pschirer, CPM, RPA, has joined the Cleveland office of Colliers International as senior director of real estate management services.

Pschirer has more than 35 years of experience in leasing, construction, operations, asset management and property management throughout Northeast Ohio.

Prior to joining Colliers, he served as senior vice president and managing director at the Ostendorf-Morris Co. His prior experience also includes serving as a senior appraiser with The Equitable Life Assurance Society with the mortgage and real estate acquisition department. He also has been active in the Building Owners and Managers Association and has served as both past president of BOMA Greater Cleveland and on the group's board of trustees.


Oswald Joins Cushman & Wakefield

Laurel Oswald has joined the Miami, FL office of Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. as a director. In her new role she will utilize her agency leasing experience to drive agency leasing efforts in the South Florida market.

Oswald brings more than 10 years of experience dealing with everything from suburban mid-rise product to downtown high-rise buildings. She most recently served as senior vice president at Transwestern, where she has been since 2005. During her time there she was responsible for the leasing and marketing of their South Florida portfolio of office properties. Before that she spent time as senior associate of project leasing in Miami-Dade County for Trammell Crow Company.


Kennedy-Wilson Hires Three Industry Veterans

Ryan Eddy, Christine Deschaine, and Fred Cordova (pictured, right) have joined the brokerage team at the Beverly Hills headquarters of Kennedy-Wilson Properties, Ltd. Since the first quarter 2013, the firm has hired seven veteran brokers.

Cordova served as executive vice president at Colliers and national executive director and chairman of its national steering committee. He has more than 30 years of experience in the industry and transactional volume topping $6 billion. He graduated from Harvard University Business School in 2008.

Deschaine joins the firm as a retail expert with more than 20 years of experience, and her career has seen more than 269,000 square feet of transactions valued at $40 million. She is a graduate of the University of Nevada.

Eddy has 10 years of acquisitions and institutional ownership experience with a focus on investment sales, and previously worked at the RIO Company with $160 million in multifamily acquisitions. He is a graduate of UC Davis.
