It's time to update those contact managers with CoStar's People of Note, reporting news on significant new CRE hires and promotions. Lee & Associates Taps Rinkov as New CEO, Chairman

After nine years serving in various leadership roles with the company, Jeff Rinkov has been named the newly-appointed CEO and chairman of the board at Lee & Associates.

Rinkov brings 18 years of industry experience to the position, where he will take the helm of a firm that has 49 offices throughout the United States and employs more than 750 agents. He was a key part in the firm’s development of technology and communications infrastructure while serving as a member of the board.

Rinkov had been serving in the position on an interim basis since November 2013 after the departure of Edward J. Indvik.

H&R Retail Promotes Buslik to Partner

H&R Retail promoted Bradley Buslik to partner.

Buslik has been with H&R Retail since 2006 as a leasing agent, working as part of the leasing team for Belmont Chase - a new development that will feature the first Whole Foods Market in Loudoun County, in addition to representing London-based Carluccio’s and heading up its North American entry with its first lease signed in Alexandria, exclusively representing retailers including Staples, Chuck E Cheese’s, Francesca’s, MyEyeDr., Newk’s Eatery, Mission BBQ, Native Foods Café, and other retailers entering the market like Miller's Ale House and QSR.

Buslik earned his bachelor's degree from George Washington University and his Master's Degree from Georgetown University.

Haboian Joins Redico

REDICO named David Haboian to senior vice president of operations. In his new role, Haboian will oversee the operation and management of REDICO’s commercial real estate portfolio.

Prior to joining REDICO, Haboian spent close to 30 years at Bloomfield Hills, MI-based Kojaian Management, most recently serving as executive vice president of brokerage.

REDICO is a national real estate development, investment, construction, and property management company headquartered in Southfield, MI.


Rosenblatt Joins CBC Alliance

Jeffrey Rosenblatt, a Manhattan commercial real estate veteran, has joined Coldwell Banker Commercial Alliance as executive managing director in the firm's New York City office.

Rosenblatt most recently served as a senior managing director at Newmark Grubb Knight Frank. Before that he was at the New York City office of Grubb & Ellis for seven years, where he was honored several times as part of their Circle of Excellence. Over the course of his career, he has closed over 20 million square feet of transactions for both tenants and landlords.

Among other accomplishments, Rosenblatt has received the Real Estate Board of New York "Most Ingenious Deal of the Year" award for creating the Fashion Footwear Center at 1414 Avenue of the Americas. He also collaborated with Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) to form the Michael Wolf Scholarship Fund.


NGKF Hires Wolfe in Miami

Sara Wolfe has joined Newmark Grubb Knight Frank as a senior managing director in the firm's Miami office. The urban retail expert will expand NGKF's retail platform in South Florida.

Wolfe previously served as a broker for Koniver Stern Group, where she specialized in representing tenants and owners in restaurant and luxury brands nationwide. She has represented national retailers like Crate & Barrel, Bonefish Grill, Cosi, Lululemon Atheltica, The Container Store, and several local restaurants, in addition to several high-profile landlords and properties including Crescent Heights, the City of Miami Beach, DDR/Midtown Miami, and Cobblestone Plaza.

"Sara brings deep market knowledge and the ability to understand the luxury consumer demographic, habits and trends and how those affect her clients' strategic initiatives on a local, regional and national level," said Jon Bourbeau, vice chairman at the NGKF Miami office.


Leabo Joins Bull Realty

Bull Realty, a U.S. commercial real estate sales, leasing and advisory firm, hired Phil Leabo as a vice president in the firm’s national net lease investment group. In his new role, Leabo will assist investors with single-tenant, net-lease investment properties, sale-leaseback transactions and 1031 exchanges.

Leabo has been involved with commercial real estate for more than 15 years. He has been a member of Prudential Georgia Realty’s commercial division as well as the Wright Group. Leabo also has experience in the finance field, having owned and operated a lumber sales and manufacturing business.

Leabo is a graduate of St. Andrews Presbyterian College with a bachelor’s degree in business and finance.


Studley Expands Tenant Representation Team

Studley hired David Nebiker as managing director and Jordan Barnett (pictured, right) as assistant director to the tenant representation team for the Denver Tech Center.

Nebiker has 23 years of tenant representation experience both in Washington, D.C. and Denver. He most recently served as president of ProTenant Commercial Real Estate for six years.

Prior to joining Studley, Barnett played an important role in efficiently growing start-up medical device companies. She brings extensive sales experience and skill at building new client relationships.


Jonas Joins Gershman Commercial

Danny Jonas has joined Gershman Commercial Real Estate, the largest locally-owned real estate firm in St. Louis.

Formerly a manager at Cassidy Turley, Jonas has experience with site selection, lease negotiation, and portfolio administration.

Jonas will focus on retail tenant representation and leasing and sales of retail centers. Jonas said he is excited to begin this journey, and to learn more about commercial real estate from the landlord rep side of the industry.


Lewis Joins The Opus Group

Christy Lewis has joined The Opus Group, filling the newly-created position of director of business development at Opus Design Build LLC in the firm's Minneapolis office.

Lewis brings nearly 20 years of experience in commercial sales and marketing, having most recently served as director of business development for Doran Companies Construction. Before that she held roles at Hallmark Building Supplies and Facility Systems, Inc.

She is a member of NAIOP Commercial Real Estate Development Association, Minnesota Commercial Real Estate Women (MNCREW), the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), and the Minnesota Shopping Center Association (MSCA).

Stiles Taps Siemens as Director

Justin Siemens has joined Stiles as director of commercial real estate development in the firm's real estate investment services group, based in the firm's Fort Lauderdale headquarters.

In his new role, Siemens will focus on sourcing new commercial development opportunities in core markets throughout the state, assisting Stiles growth of its retail and office development pipeline.

Siemens brings more than 12 years of experience in local commercial development and finance, most recently overseeing Federal Realty Investment Trust's Florida portfolio. While at FRIT he also managed financial operations and implemented key value-add and redevelopment strategies. Before that he was acquisitions director at Compson Holding Corporation following positions at BankAtlantic Commercial Mortgage Capital, Cohen Financial, and Holliday Fenoglio Fowler (HFF).


Lamm Joins Cushman & Wakefield

Jeff Lamm has joined Cushman & Wakefield as a director in its industrial brokerage services division, based in the firm's Tampa office.

Lamm brings more than 11 years of commercial real estate experience, most recently with Industrial Property Group, Inc. where he represented numerous Fortune-100 portfolio clients with disposition, acquisition, and tenant and landlord leasing. Before that he served on the industrial group with the former Grubb & Ellis Tampa Bay and as director of leasing at Taylor & Mathis.

A long-time member of commercial real estate development association NAIOP and the Florida Gulf Coast Commercial Association of Realtors, Inc. (FGCAR), Lamm received his bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of South Florida.


Cushman & Wakefield Promotes Brenner

Cushman and Wakefield has promoted Ben Brenner to director. He will serve out of the firm's Morristown office, becoming its youngest director in the state of New Jersey.

"Ben has proven to be a true advocate for his clients, and his dedication to the highest quality of service is reflected in his track record of assignments." said Kim Brennan, New Jersey market leader. "As a director, he will continue to expand his client base and focus to a greater extent on corporations with a national and global footprint."

Brenner has been named a Normandy Real Estate Parnters' Broker of the Year, and was part of the team that garnered NAIOP New Jersey's Creative Deal of the Year. Among his other honors, Brenner was named Cushman & Wakefield's Associate Director of the Year in 2013, and is an active member of the New Jersey Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council.


Anderson Joins Equity

Richard Anderson has joined Equity's Hospitality Group in Southwest Florida as a senior associate. In his new role, Anderson will concentrate on acquisition and disposition services for hotel owners and operators.

Anderson brings extensive experience in the acquisition and development of commercial property across the state. Prior to joining Equity, Anderson served as a broker associate for The Jackson Group in Boca Raton and as an account transaction manager for the former CB Richard Ellis’ global corporate services group.

Equity is a full service commercial real estate firm offering complete real estate development, brokerage, construction and property management services across the country.


Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer Strengthens Retail Division

Allyson Petty, a long-time broker and asset manager of Blackwood Development Co., joined the retail services group at Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer as a senior associate, and brought Blackwood's retail portfolio - consisting of approximately two million square feet of constructed and proposed retail centers in Richmond - with her.

Prior to her work at Blackwood, Petty served as a senior associate with Grubb & Ellis | Harrison & Bates and as a retail associate with The Shopping Center Group. She is a graduate of James Madison University.

Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer already has a dominant stake in Richmond’s retail scene. The retail team has a portfolio nearing seven million square feet in the Richmond market, according to CoStar records.
