It's time to update those contact managers with CoStar's People of Note, reporting news on significant new CRE hires and promotions. Colliers International Welcomes Cabrera

Joseph A. Cabrera joined Colliers International’s New York City office as the vice chairman of the firm's Eastern Region. In his new role, Cabrera will continue to build on his multi-decade track record, and will continue to deliver global real estate services to corporate tenants and landlords in New York and around the world.

Cabrera has been a leading broker in the New York region for more than 25 years, completing over 3,000 deals totaling in excess of 40 million square feet in more than 250 cities worldwide on behalf of a growing number of Fortune 500 companies. He was previously at Cushman & Wakefield, where he served as vice chairman.

Cabrera will be joined by David Glassman as executive managing director in Midtown Manhattan, Robert Thuss as executive managing director in tenant representation and downtown, Mike Gordon as executive managing director in Westchester and Fairfield, Tim Kuhn as senior managing director based in New Jersey, director Kelly Broderick, and Kyle DeBussey, a downtown specialist.


NAI Taps Miller as EVP

Ryan Miller has joined NAI Global, the largest global network of owner-operated commercial real estate brokerage firms.

As an executive vice president responsible for the Eastern region of North America, Miller will drive business to and with NAI member firms while expanding the firm's capabilities and member services in this newly-created role. He will be based in Pittsburgh, and will also serve as staff advisor to the firm's Retail Council, which focuses on elevating consistent delivery of the professional competency of its member companies.

Miller brings more than a decade of experience, having most recently served as first vice president with CBRE in McLean, VA. While there, he completed more than 230 transactions valued at over $550 million, founded the associate broker office network, and was selected to serve on the CBRE Americas Presidents Advisory Council.

Rendina Cos Appoints Neyland as Chief Investment Officer

Rendina Cos. named Robert Neyland as chief investment officer in its Dallas office. His new responsibilities as CIO will include evaluating acquisition opportunities in targeted markets throughout the country and further enhancing the company’s relationships with leading healthcare systems, hospitals and lenders.

Neyland has more than 25 years of experience in finance and healthcare real estate services. He has previously worked for Montecito Property Co., Proventus Healthcare and Santa Barbara Medical Innovations, and co-founded Montecito Medical Investment Co. in 2005, which went on to purchase and sell more than 1.5 million square feet of medical office space throughout the country.


DTZ Adds Three to Expand in SF Bay Area

Luigi Sciabarrasi and Charles McCabe have joined DTZ as senior vice presidents, and will be joined by Malik Harris as a senior associate.

Sciabarrasi joins DTZ’s Palo Alto office from tech firm Symantec, where he was vice president of global real estate for eight years. Sciabarrasi has negotiated more than five million square feet of transactions, and has managed global real estate portfolios and the acquisition, disposition and development of over $1.5 billion in investments.

McCabe joins DTZ’s San Francisco office as a senior vice president in investment brokerage. Formerly with CBRE, McCabe specializes in the sale of investment-grade assets. He has managed the acquisition or disposition of more than 6 million square feet of commercial properties and more than 20,000 acres of vacant land.

Harris, who will also be joining DTZ’s San Francisco office as a senior associate, was previously a leasing associate with JLL, and will be focusing on tenant representation in the East Bay Area.


Colliers International Names Mullice to TOD Group

Rod Mullice joined Colliers International Atlanta as senior vice president and national director of the recently formed transit-oriented development (TOD) group. In his new role, Mullice will lead the firm’s full platform of advisory services focused on transit-oriented development in the top 20 transit markets in the U.S.

A 17-year industry veteran, Mullice comes to Colliers International from Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, where he was a managing director in the firm’s municipal advisory group for transit-oriented development. Before that Mullice was a partner at Liberty Partners, developing affordable housing. He has also served as a consultant at KHAFRA Engineering Consultants, where he was a public liaison for the City’s $3.2 billion sewer system rehabilitation.

Mullice is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), American Public Transportation Association, National Apartment Association, and the Urban Land Institute (ULI).


Miller Joins DTZ

Rick Miller has joined DTZ as a senior vice president of the firm's new Boca Raton office. As a new senior member of DTZ, Rick Miller will focus on local tenant representation and building the regional and international client base.

Miller was recently with CBRE for 11 years as a professional broker in South Florida. Miller has represented over 2 million square feet of transactions. Rick Miller has been in corporate real estate in South Florida since 1987.

Miller holds a bachelor's degree in real estate from Florida State University. He is a member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR), and has been awarded the RPA and FMA designations from Building Owner's and Manager's Association (BOMA) International.


McGorrey Rejoins Trammell Crow

Joseph McGorrey has been appointed senior vice president of Trammell Crow Co.'s Atlanta business unit. In his new role, McGorrey will facilitate commercial development by overseeing deal sourcing, financial management, and build to suit projects.

A 30-year industry veteran, McGorrey most recently worked as the senior vice president of Crescent Resources in Atlanta, where he was responsible for managing more than $200 million in land sale transactions and building contacts representing almost 1,000 acres and more than 1 million square feet of office, industrial, retail, and multifamily properties. Before joining Crescent in 2007, McGorrey worked for Trammell Crow for 14 years.

McGorrey earned a bachelor's of business administration in accounting and finance from Drexel University.


Mason Joins StreamCo

StreamCo, a real estate services company, has hired John E. Mason as a new senior vice president.

Mason will play a role in maintaining institutional commercial real estate assets as well as working to build new investment opportunities in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern U.S.

Before his transition to StreamCo, Mason spent seven years with Robinson Development Group as director of property acquisitions. Across multiple property types, Mason oversaw the management of 2.5 million square feet of commercial real estate, in addition to working to establish new business developments. Overall, Mason has more than 14 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry.


Spencer Joins Walton

Myron Spencer has joined The Walton Group of Companies as a vice president of operations in the firm's Scottsdale, AZ headquarters.

Spencer will lead the family-owned real estate investment group's development and management arm, tasked with the oversight of land planning, development, and project services for Walton's more than 83,000 acres of land and 18 development projects.

With more than 25 years of experience, Spencer previously served as vice president of land at Beazer Homes, responsible for land acquisition and development and closing more than 50 transactions valued at $250 million. Before that he held positions at American Property Development, Inc. and Pacific Realty Advisors.


Levin Management Names Vice to VP Construction, Management

Levin Management named commercial real estate veteran Roy D. Vice as vice president of construction and development at its headquarters in North Plainfield, NJ. Vice will team up with Levin’s property management and lease teams to oversee the company’s construction and development activities within a retail portfolio comprised of more than 13 million square feet.

Prior to joining Levin, Vice served as senior vice president and director of retail development for O’Neill Properties Group in King of Prussia, PA. Formerly, he has served as executive director of design and development for Tourism Development Investment Company in Abu Dhabi UAE, senior vice president of Poag & McEwen Lifestyle Centers LLC in Memphis, and vice president development at Westfield in Chicago.

Vice holds a bachelor’s degree in architectural studies and Master’s Degrees in finance and architecture from the University of Illinois.


Levyssohn Joins Progressive

Robert Levyssohn has joined Progressive Real Estate Partners as a senior retail specialist. In his new role, Levyssohn will focus on the lease and sale of retail properties across the Inland Empire and San Gabriel Valley markets.

With 25 years of industry experience, Levyssohn most recently led his own firm, Stuart Thomas & Company, providing an array of services including commercial leasing, land sales, and entitlement services. He also has experience with brokerage, site acquisition, and ground-up development, having held corporate real estate positions at Starbucks, McDonalds, Applebee's, Jack in the Box, 7-Eleven and Wachovia, during which time he completed more than 250 retail lease transactions including 90 new Starbucks across Southern California.

Levyssohn holds an MBA from California Polytechnic University Pomona. He is a member of ICSC and the Association of Corporate Real Estate Executives (ACRE).
