Marcus & Millichap Taps LaBar as COO, EVP

Mitchell LaBar will return to Marcus & Millichap as executive vice president and chief operating officer, effective March 31. LaBar will oversee the growing brokerage offices nationally, including development of the firm's regional managers.

LaBar joined Marcus & Millichap back in 1984 as an agent in the firm's Newport Beach, CA office, quickly rising through the ranks to regional manager in 1989 and opening the firm's Ontario, CA office. In 1996 he became a division manager, overseeing offices in Southern California before transitioning to the Northeast. LaBar left the firm in 2008 to begin a private real estate investment trust, but was called back in 2015 to serve as a consultant on the firm's management leadership training and development.

Related Beal Names Sherman Stamler as President

Related Beal has promoted Kimberly Sherman Stamler to president. In her new role, Sherman Stamler will oversee management of the firm, leading its pursuit of new development opportunities and financing activities across its business units.

Sherman Stamler joined Related Beal in August 2014 as its chief operating officer, relocating from Related's New York City headquarters, where she had been since 1999. While at Related Beal she was involved in conceptualizing and financing Parcel 1B, the Quinzani Bakery acquisition, and fund management deals including The Arlington in the Back Bay.


AmTrust Launches Title Co., Taps Gordon as President

AmTrust Financial Services, Inc. has launched a new national title insurance business, and tapped Jason Gordon to serve as president of AmTrust Title. In his new role, Gordon will oversee all domestic and international operations for the new firm.

Gordon most recently served as senior vice president of Westcor Land Title Insurance Company, and before that was a vice president and counsel at Fidelity National Title Insurance Company's national commercial office in New York City.

CentreCourt Developments Appoints President

Shamez Virani has been promoted to president of CentreCourt Developments, a multifamily development firm. Andrew Hoffman, founder and former president, will transition to the role of CEO.

Virani will focus on projects with greater scale and a higher concentration of mixed-use. Prior to joining CentreCourt, Virani worked in sales and marketing for Peter Street Condos, Core Condos, Karm Condos and Indx Condos.


Niven Joins Bridge Development's Cold Storage Group

Bridge Development has hired Brian Niven to oversee the growth of its cold storage practice nationwide as the group's principal.

Prior to joining Bridge Development, Niven was responsible for project origination and development in the U.S. for J-Power USA Development Co. Niven is a former U.S. Army Infantry Officer and a graduate of the Virginia Military Institute. He holds an MBA from Loyola University of Chicago.


First Capital Realty Appoints Three New Senior Executives

First Capital Realty (FCR.TO), one of the largest owners, developers and managers of grocery-anchored urban properties in Canada, rounded out its executive team with the hiring of Jordon Robins, Carmine Francella and Gareth Burton as senior executives.

Robins will transition next quarter into the role of COO. He spent the last 13 years with RioCan REIT, where he most recently served as senior vice president of planning and development. He also spent nine years at SmartREIT. Francella and Burton joined the company earlier this year as senior vice president of leasing and senior vice president of construction, respectively.

Tydlaska Rejoins CBRE

Todd Tydlaska has joined CBRE Capital Markets as an executive vice president in the firm's El Segundo, CA office. In his new role, Tydlaska will specialize on institutional office investment sales.

Tydlaska returns to CBRE following a brief stint with HFF. His appointment is one of several made by CBRE following the surprise departure in January of Kevin Shannon, the firm's former West Coast investment sales team leader and head of the firm’s Western capital-markets platform, who moved to Newmark Grubb Knight Frank along with 13 members of his Southern California sales team.


NGKF Hires Nine Person Multifamily Team in Palo Alto

Newmark Grubb Knight Frank has recruited nine top multifamily investment sales brokers from Cushman & Wakefield's Palo Alto, CA office to work at ARA Newmark, the multi-housing sales unit of NGKF, a division of BGC Partners.

The team, headed by executive managing directors Justin Bautista and Brian Henry (pictured, right), includes Matt Thomson, Steve Zirelli, Vinay Bhatia, Scott Kilpatrick, Bryan Danforth, Joel Hopman, Justin Sieber. Their professional expertise ranges from apartment sales and development to triple-net investment, retail, and mixed-use property transactions.


Dunfee, Turzanski Promoted to Engineering Leaders

Cushman & Wakefield's Michael Turzanski in Denver and Lee Dunfee (pictured, right) in Columbia, MD have been promoted to West Region and East Region engineering leaders, respectively.

The pair will advise Cushman & Wakefield's engineering team on operations and maintenance of office, industrial, retail and data center properties, energy management and sustainability across its asset services lines.
