WASHINGTON, DC
Colliers Hires Team to Launch National Govt Services Practice

On the heels of a major expansion in the District and Northern Virginia unveiled last week, Colliers International announced Wednesday it has launched a government services practice group and hired three commercial real estate veterans to lead it.

The team headed by Kurt Stout, Charles Dilks, and Keith Lavey, who join Colliers from Grubb & Ellis along with three other associates, will provide consulting and contracting services nationally to government agencies. The six-member team will represent private sector landlords who lease space to government tenants and will also participate in the sale of government-leased properties.

Stout, Dilks and Lavey, who will be based in DC, led Grubb & Ellis’ government services group for 13 years, completing more than 400 lease and sale transactions totaling more than 8 million square feet.

Colliers last week announced the launch of a new office in McLean, VA, and introduced a regional property management practice for the DC area.

ST. LOUIS
CBRE Names Kaiser Head of St. Louis Operations

CB Richard Ellis Group promoted Jeffrey C. Kaiser to managing director and head of the firm’s St. Louis operations. He succeeds Peter Krombach who retired from the firm earlier this year.

Kaiser’s tenure at the firm began in 2000 when he joined as an office properties specialist. In his most recent position as senior vice president, the top producer has focused on landlord agency and tenant representation in downtown St. Louis and Clayton. While earning his civil engineering degree from the University of Illinois in the 1990s, Kaiser also worked for McCarthy Construction as a senior estimator.



NEW YORK CITY
Ernst Promotes 2 as National Leaders in CREAS Practice

Ernst & Young LLP promoted Maureen A. Welch (far left) and Josh Herrenkohl (left) to national roles within the company's construction and real estate advisory services (CREAS) practice. Welch was appointed national service line leader in the corporate real estate practice and Herrenkohl holds the same title in the real estate investor services group. The former senior managers are based in EY’s New York office.

Welch has nearly three decades of strategy and operations experience. The corporate real estate sector specialist served as a consultant and thought leader in the field before rejoining Ernst two years ago.

Herrenkohl worked for Capgemini and the Government of Japan before returning to EY seven years ago. He has more than 16 years of experience in the real estate and technology consulting arenas.


NEVADA
Dermody Properties Taps Former ProLogis Exec as President

Dermody Properties/DP Partners selected Douglas A. Kiersey Jr., SIOR as president. Kiersey will oversee the industrial property developer’s capital, acquisition, development and property management activities.

The 27-year commercial real estate veteran specializes in development, land and building acquisition and distribution property management. He spent the last 17 years at ProLogis, most recently as senior vice president/Midwest regional director overseeing the management of 84 million square feet in nine cities. Kiersey also managed the Portland and Seattle markets as vice president/market officer. Before ProLogis, he was a broker at Cushman & Wakefield.

Dermody Properties/DP Partners is a 50-year-old firm headed by Chairman and CEO Michael C. Dermody. The Reno, NV-based development company has offices in Portland, OR, Chicago and Pennsylvania.

Its client list includes 1-800-Flowers.com, Amazon.com, Dell, DHL, Hhgregg, Home Depot, Kimberly-Clark and Walmart. Dermody is currently building a 462,720-square-foot western U.S. internet fulfillment center in Reno for Urban Outfitters (Nasdaq: URBN). The firm teamed with United Construction Co. on the $60 million project, which is set deliver next June.


ATLANTA
Allen Joins JLL's Industrial National Capital Markets Group

Lathan Allen has joined Jones Lang LaSalle's national Industrial Capital Markets group in Atlanta as managing director where he will focus on the industrial investment sales sector in the Southeast under the direction of JLL's national head of Industrial Investment Sales, John Huguenard.

Allen brings more than 15 years of experience within the industrial investment sales sector, focusing on acquisitions, development leasing and management of institutional grade industrial warehouses. During his career, he’s also been an owner controlling more than four million square feet and managed more than 16 million square feet of industrial property. Previously, Allen was a founder and managing partner at Augustus Holdings. Before that, he served was a co-founder and managing partner at Taurus Industrial Development.


NEW YORK CITY, NORTHERN NEW JERSEY
C&W Promotes 10 Retail Brokerage Professionals

Cushman & Wakefield Retail Services has promoted ten brokerage professionals. The firm has promoted three new senior directors, one to director, two more to associate director, and has named four more to the position of senior associate.

"The dedication and exceptional work of these professionals has greatly enhanced our firm’s Retail Services team," said Suzy Reingold, executive managing director of Cushman & Wakefield’s New York City offices. "Their promotions are well deserved."


LONG ISLAND
CPEX Promotes Roberts to COO

CPEX Real Estate Services in Brooklyn promoted managing director Greg Roberts to chief operating officer. In this new role, Roberts will work closely with managing partners Brian Leary and Timothy King overseeing the company's day to day operations. These operations include company systems, accounting, human resources, public relations and business development.

Roberts' wealth of experience comes from working in finance and hospitality. He was a part of the pre-opening planning team for the Ritz Carlton Battery Hotel, The St. Regis Los Angeles Hotel, Cipriani Toy Building and the Rubin Museum of Art. Roberts has also served as vice president of business development for Furnished Quarters, one of New York's largest corporate housing companies.


BALTIMORE
Manekin Promotes Nachlas to SVP

Columbia, MD-headquartered Manekin LLC promoted top producer Adam Nachlas, SIOR to senior vice president. With more than 20 years of industry experience, Nachlas will be responsible for the daily operations of the brokerage division, generate sales and leasing strategies, recruit employees and pinpoint future opportunities for the firm.

Fifteen years prior to Nachlas’ recent promotion, he was acting vice president of Manekin’s brokerage division. In this roll, Nachlas focused on tenant representation, corporate services and biotech real estate consulting.
