Wells Names Morris Chief Real Estate Officer

Wells Real Estate Funds appointed Patricia Morris as chief real estate officer. Morris supersedes Don Henry who after a decade with the company will step down effective August 21, 2012.
The change was announced days after the board of Wells Investment Management Co. named Morris as president of WIM following Christopher Daniel's resignation as president. WREF owns and controls WIM.
Morris has more than a quarter century of
commercial real estate experience with a focus on portfolio and investment management, marketing and investment analysis. Since 2008, she has managed the asset management group that runs Wells Core Office Income REIT and other real estate programs. Before moving to Wells nine years ago, Morris was a director and portfolio manager for Prudential Real Estate Investors and an asset manager for The Travelers Realty Investment Co.

Starwood Capital Forms Retail Group; Hires Former DDR Chief

Starwood Capital Group, a private investment firm, formed a new entity, Starwood Retail Partners and named Scott Wolstein its chief executive officer.
The Chicago-based SRP will oversee the management of the 6.6 million square feet of shopping center assets it recently purchased from Westfield Group.
Wolstein is the former CEO and executive chairman of DDR Corp., the Beachwood, OH-based REIT focused on shopping center properties. He oversaw DDR until February 2011 and served as its chief executive from 1992 to 2010 when it was known as Developers Diversified Realty Corp.
Wolstein said he will continue to live in Cleveland and commute to Chicago as well as to Starwood's headquarters in Greenwich, CT.

CBRE Adds Herz to Investment Sales Team

Nick Herz has joined the Boston office of CB Richard Ellis - N.E. Partners LP, a joint venture company with CBRE Group, as senior vice president.
Herz, a 12-year veteran of the business specializing in both the principal and brokerage sides of the industry, will join Bill Moylan and Chris Angelone on the CBRE/New England Capital Markets team in Boston. Previously a senior vice president on the investment sales team at Colliers International, Herz was also previously an analyst with Carpenter & Company in Cambridge, MA.
Herz's hiring follows the addition of debt and equity specialists Kyle Juszczyszyn and Carlos Febres-Mazzei to CBRE's team.

Jones Lang LaSalle Hires Industry Vet to Lead Investment Group

Bob Milkovich joined Jones Lang LaSalle as president of Spaulding & Slye Investments, a real estate investment management firm. He will lead the firm’s in-house group, which identifies and executes investment and development strategies for JLL’s employees and clients. He is based in Washington, DC.
Milkovich has been in the industry for over two decades, previously serving as regional director for the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern Regions for the Archon Group, a real estate investment and asset management vehicle owned by Goldman Sachs. He has also served at CarrAmerica and Leggat McCall and Rubloff & Co.

Lee & Associates Expands Southfield Team

Thomas A. Boutrous II joined the Southfield, MI, office of Lee & Associates.
Boutrous was hired as a principal. He brings almost 10 years of experience in the commercial real estate market with particular expertise in Oakland and Macomb counties. Prior to joining Lee, he was instrumental in the expansion of the retail properties division at L. Mason Capitani Inc. Additionally, Boutrous has held the position of vice president for CBRE and Trammell Crow Co.
