CHICAGO

Baker Appointed to Lead Real Estate Capital Markets for KeyBank

KeyBank Real Estate Capital, a unit under Cleveland, OH-based KeyCorp that provides real estate finance, has appointed Dan Baker to head up the real estate capital markets division. He will be succeeding, and will report directly to, Angela Mago, who was named head of real estate capital and community development.

Baker has worked for KeyBank for 12 years. He most recently served as the head of the CMBS program, where he helped KeyBank infiltrate the CMBS market after the recession. He also worked as the head of KeyBank’s commercial production team.

Baker will manage KeyBank’s investor placement, CMBS, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA platforms, while strengthening the commercial production team. He will work out of the Chicago office.



ATLANTA

Sealy & Co Atlanta Welcomes New Regional Director

J. Ryan McCaffrey is joining Sealy & Co. as regional director for the Southeastern U.S.

McCaffrey has more than 12 years of investment experience in commercial real estate as well as private equity, most recently serving as vice president for Lone Star Funds/Hudson Advisors and senior vice president for LaSalle Investment Management.

McCaffrey will take the lead in growth initiatives for Sealy & Co.’s Atlanta platform of capital raising and implementing strategy for multiple investment partnerships after leading similar efforts from 2005-2009 in Paris and London, creating an industrial development platform and developing joint venture relationships throughout the UK.

HOUSTON

Transwestern Makes Executive Appointment in Houston

Transwestern expanded its tenant advisory services platform in Houston with the addition of Michael Palmer, SIOR as senior vice president.

In his new role, Palmer will help assist industrial tenants with their real estate needs and support institutional industrial clients.

Palmer has spent more than 27 years in the commercial real estate industry with a focus on the development, sale, and leasing of industrial, commercial, and investment properties. During that time he has completed approximately 1,100 transactions for an aggregate sum of more than $1.2 billion. Past clients include Wal-Mart, Dow Chemical, Siemens, Goodyear, and the City of Houston.



SAN FRANCISCO

Kilroy Hires for West Coast RE Investment Trust

Kilroy Realty Corp. (KRC) named Mike Grisso senior vice president of development and land planning. Grisso will join KRC’s West Coast real estate investment trust in mid-July.

Grisso is currently the senior project manager for the office of community investment and infrastructure (OCII) for the City and County of San Francisco. Prior to his 11 years with OCII, he was managing implementation of the Transbay and South of Market redevelopment projects with the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency.

Grisso has a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Master’s Degree in public policy and urban planning from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.



WASHINGTON DC

PM Realty Expands Team in DC

Eduardo Trujillo and Andrew Gilpin joined Houston-based PM Realty Group's Washington, D.C. office as senior vice president of leasing and senior leasing associate, respectively. The two men were brought on to expand PMRG's leasing platform.

Trujillo is moving from Brookfield Properties, while having worked in the industry for nearly 30 years with Archon Group and Grubb & Ellis. While at Brookfield, Trujillo oversaw an eight-property portfolio totaling more than 2.4 million square feet of class A office space in D.C.

Gilpin is leaving CBRE, where he represented office landlords and tenants in the D.C. area as an associate broker. He received a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Auburn.



COLUMBUS

Copella Appointed as Managing Director at CBRE Columbus

CBRE has named Michael Copella as the new managing director of operations in Columbus, OH, effective July 1st. on July 1st. He will be succeeding Robert Click, a 15-year veteran with the firm who will continue to assist the company in corporate initiatives and with key clients.

Prior to the new position, Copella worked as vice president of CBRE’s office services group since 2011, primarily serving healthcare clients in the Columbus region. Before CBRE, he worked as vice president of Alterra Real Estate Advisors.

Copella has worked with clients such as American Health Network, Capital City Cardiology, Nexus Technology Group, and Central Ohio Primary Care Physicians.



DALLAS / FT. WORTH

Harmon Joins Bright Realty

Bright Realty appointed Paul Harmon to vice president in its Lewisville, TX office.

Prior to joining Bright Realty, Harmon worked at Retail Street Advisors where he handled project leasing and tenant representation. He has also worked with Henry S. Miller.

Harmon has more than 25 years in the real estate industry.

NEW YORK CITY

HAP Promotes Franco to VP

Nathan Franco has been promoted to vice president at HAP Investments LLC, a New York City-based real estate investment and development company. In his new position, Franco will be responsible for acquisitions and development, financial modeling, and deal structuring.

Before joining HAP in 2012, Franco worked at Sol Goldman Investments, another real estate firm in New York City. He studied finance at Touro College and management at Yeshiva University.

"We are proud to name Nathan vice president at HAP Investments. His expertise and industry knowledge have been instrumental to this company, and we look forward to the success he will achieve in this new role," said Eran Polack, CEO of HAP Investments.



PORTLAND

Multifamily Pro Named Director of New IPA Portland Office

Institutional Property Advisors, a division of Marcus and Millichap, is expanding its footprint and its talent pool. With a new Portland office and the addition of Elizabeth K. Davis to direct that office, the move is a play by the company to take advantage of the expansion of interest in multifamily institutional investment in the Portland market.

A veteran to the commercial real estate industry in Portland, Davis brings 20 years of experience with local and national institutional clients to her new role as director of IPA Portland. Previously a broker with Apartment Realty Advisors (ARA), Davis has been directly involved in multifamily sale transactions totaling over $500 million within the past two years. Already this year, she brokered two significant multifamily sales: the $42.7 million transfer of Covington Farms, and the $53 million sale of Tupelo Alley.



JACKSONVILLE

Bohn Joins Cushman & Wakefield

Julie Bohn joined Cushman & Wakefield of Florida as director of the land and special assets brokerage services group, based in the firm's Jacksonville office.

Bohn has an extensive commercial real estate background, serving as an appraiser for Cantrell Real Estate before transitioning to the brokerage side with Cantrell and Morgan. As a broker, she concentrated on the sale of distressed portfolios and assets for REO departments and land acquisitions on behalf of investors.

Bohn has a degree in both finance and real estate from Florida State University, and is a state-certified broker and commercial appraiser.
