NEW YORK CITY

Brookfield Promotes Schulman to President, COO of Office Operations

Brookfield Office Properties, the office division of Brookfield Property Partners (NSYE: BPY), has promoted Paul L. Schulman to president and chief operating officer of its U.S. commercial operations.

In his new role, Schulman will oversee day-to-day operations of the firm's 57 million-square-foot office business, in addition to overseeing asset management, leasing, and operations of Brookfield's 63-property office portfolio spanning New York City, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Houston, Denver, Boston, Seattle, and San Francisco.

Schulman has been with Brookfield for the past 16 years, most recently as COO of Brookfield US. Before that he served as senior vice president and regional head of Brookfield's Washington, DC region. Schulman's 20 years in the commercial real estate industry includes a stint as an asset manager at the JBG Companies.

SAN FRANCISCO

LaHorgue Joins Carmel Partners

Carmel Partners, a real estate investment management firm headquartered in San Francisco, appointed Michael LaHorgue to the newly-created position of president.

A 30-year industry veteran, LaHorgue will be part of Carmel Partners investment and executive committee and will report directly to founder and CEO, Ron Zeff. LaHorgue had worked previously in institutional and private investments, including nine years with Shorenstein Realty Services.

LaHorgue received his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California at Berkeley.

SACRAMENTO

Avison Young Purchases Aguer Havelock Associates

Avison Young can now add brokerage services to its current offerings in Sacramento following the firm's acquisition of Aguer Havelock Associates, a commercial real estate brokerage company and former member of the NAI network.

Thomas Aguer will act as a principal and managing director of Avison Young's Sacramento office. He will oversee the firm's growth and development in the Sacramento area, service new and existing clients, coordinate the local recruiting program and manage day-to-day operations.

Matt Havelock (pictured, right) will also function as a principal at the Sacramento office and help Aguer expand Avison Young's Sacramento brokerage and management operations while continuing to service clients.



SOUTH BAY

DTZ Appoints SVP of Brokerage in Silicon Valley

DTZ has selected Bay Area real estate veteran Gabe Burke as a senior vice president in the firm's Palo Alto office.

Burke joins DTZ from Colliers International, where he headed up the corporate advisory group as a senior vice president. During that time, Burke represented a wide array of clients including, Xerox, KLA-Tencor, Logitech, Prologis, Hall Equities Group, Reynolds and Brown, Summit Real Estate Advisors, and Webcor Builders.

Burke earned a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of California Santa Barbara and an MBA from the University of California Berkeley's Walter A. Haas School of Business.



ATLANTA

Rosemont Realty Adds New SVP

Rosemont Realty hired Tina Renee McCall as senior vice president. McCall will be in charge of asset management and will oversee 12 properties totaling two million square feet across seven Eastern U.S. markets. Based in Atlanta, McCall will also oversee all staff in the region, including asset manager analysts, property managers, and third party brokers.

Previously, McCall served as vice president of asset management for Columbia Property Trust, where she was responsible for planning management and marketing strategies for more than 8.5 million square feet across 10 Eastern U.S. cities.

McCall earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia and her MBA in finance from Georgia State.



NORTHERN NEW JERSEY

Woodmont Properties Promotes Key Staff

Woodmont Properties, a Fairfield, NJ-based developer of luxury residential communities, has promoted several staff members. The move reflects the 50-year-old company's continued growth in the Northeast.

The following staff members were honored for contributions to the company's success:
  • Howard Irwin - senior vice president of construction;
  • Steven Varneckas - senior vice president, director of development;
  • Marla Posey - vice president of property management;
  • Steven Klenk - construction vice president;
  • Robert McLaughlin - regional maintenance supervisor.



PHOENIX

Zachary Joins Opus Design Build

Louis Zachary has joined Opus Design Build LLC as regional director of construction in the greater Phoenix area. In his new role, Zachary will oversee the Opus Group's construction business and support the growth of the recently-opened office.

Zachary brings 25 years of real estate experience, having worked at CSM Corporation for the past seven years, most recently as director of construction services. Before that he was with Cushman & Wakefield / NorthMarq, and held construction management positions at Thor Construction, TCM Construction, and Langer Construction.

A member of the Construction Management Association of America, Zachary earned a bachelor's degree in construction management from Minnesota State University, Mankato.



ATLANTA

Cassidy Turley Hires New Senior Managing Director

Pat Murphy has joined Cassidy Turley as senior managing director. In his new role, Murphy will lead the firm’s Atlanta region industrial team as the firm continues to expand its industrial platform.

An industry veteran with nearly 30 years of experience in Atlanta industrial project leasing, Murphy joins Cassidy Turley from CBRE, where he was a senior vice president tasked with directing the firm’s Atlanta project leasing efforts, representing clients such as Cobalt Capital Partners, First Industrial Realty Trust, LaSalle Investment Management and INVESCO. Murphy has also held positions at Trammell Crow Co. and Duke Realty.



SOUTH FLORIDA

Duke Joins Illustrated Properties in Palm Beach Gardens

Ken Duke has joined Illustrated Properties Real Estate, Inc. as the managing director of its commercial division. In his new role, Duke will focus on CRE property management, sales and leasing, mortgage brokerage, and acquisition management.

Duke previously served as a senior associate at Reichel Realty & Investments, Inc. He has severed as an expert witness and consultant in real estate legal cases, served on the Governor’s task force on title insurance, and served as the president of the local association of REALTORS in addition to other leadership roles across the industry. He currently serves on the Palm Beach County Business Development Board’s business recruitment committee, and is a member of many community business and charitable organizations.



NEW YORK CITY

Bokman Moves to JLL

JLL hired Amanda Bokman as a managing director of its New York City office. Bokman will be responsible for new business development as well as provide tenant representation services throughout the New York metropolitan area.

Prior to joining JLL, Bokman was a senior vice president with CBRE. Bokman also worked as CFO for several wholesale and retail apparel companies including J.Crew, Jones Apparel Group-Moderate Division, and McNaughton Apparel Group, where she oversaw real estate portfolios.

Bokman holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from New York University.



SAN DIEGO

Northbrook Joins Voit RE Svcs

Eric Northbrook has joined Voit Real Estate Services as a managing director in the company's San Diego office. In his new role, Northbrook will oversee all aspects of Voit’s operations in the San Diego office.

Northbrook was previously at Cushman & Wakefield of San Diego, most recently serving as executive director of brokerage services, where he specialized in tenant and corporate representation. Before that he was with Colliers International for 12 years.

"As part of our strategic initiative to further integrate our brokerage and real estate management platforms, the addition of Eric in the role of managing director will support this effort, enabling us to continue to provide tailored solutions to our clients," said Robert D. Voit, CEO.
