It's time to update those contact managers with CoStar's People of Note, reporting news on significant new CRE hires and promotions. This week, the following companies announced personnel moves: Cassidy Turley, Stream Realty Partners, CASE Commercial Real Estate Partners, Transwestern, Cushman & Wakefield, ICORE Global, Griffin Partners, C&C RiverRock Newmark, Gebroe-Hammer Associates, U.S. Equities Asset Management, Colliers International and Murray Hill Properties.

NATIONAL, SAN FRANCISCO
Cassidy Turley Taps Northern California Leader Kamm to Serve as President

Cassidy Turley has promoted Michael Kamm to president of the company, assuming the role formerly held by CEO Joseph Stettinius.

The firm's managing principals and regional managing principals will report to Kamm, who will remain based in San Francisco. He also will join Cassidy Turley's Board of Directors.

For the past three years, Kamm has led Cassidy Turley's Northern California operations. He previously served as CEO of Cassidy Turley predecessor BT Commercial, a firm he joined in 1994 when he opened its Oakland, CA, office. During his 12-year tenure as CEO of Cassidy Turley in Northern California and its predecessor, the company has grown from five to 15 regional offices staffed by approximately 400 professionals.

The firm's managing principals and regional managing principals will report to Kamm, who will remain based in San Francisco. He also will join Cassidy Turley's Board of Directors.

Sheff To Lead Stream's Property Mgmt. on National Level

Stream Realty Partners promoted Liz Sheff to executive vice president and director of customer-focused centralized services.

Sheff will be responsible for property management, property accounting, engineering, technical and green and construction management services for the firm nationally.

The industry professional has been with Stream for nearly three years and joined the firm with more than 20 years of property management experience. She was previously responsible for leading Stream’s property management in Dallas/Fort Worth.

Prior to joining Stream, Sheff was a managing principal and vice president of management services for Holt Lunsford Commercial and served as a senior manager with Trammell Crow Co.


AUSTIN, DALLAS/FORT WORTH, HOUSTON, SAN ANTONIO
CASE Bolsters Service Platform With John Bowles Co. Merger

CASE Commercial Real Estate Partners, a commercial real estate firm headquartered in Dallas, added to its service platform with its recent merger with John Bowles Co. JBC is a Dallas-based boutique firm that focuses on office and retail project leasing, tenant representation and property management services.

The alliance gives CASE a total of 81 workers in Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio and Houston, including 35 brokerage professionals. JBC also added 4 million square feet of office and retail space, plus flex inventory to the merger. Gross annual sales and leasing transaction volumes are estimated to be $250 million. JBC will now operate as CASE.

John Bowles, who founded JBC nearly 17 years ago, will serve as a principal at CASE and concentrate on new business development.

Retail specialist Mike Cagle joined CASE to oversee the retail service line, which consists of 85 shopping centers currently being leased by JBC in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.


SAN FRANCISCO
Transwestern Adds 2 Veterans to San Francisco Office

Transwestern expanded its San Francisco office with the hiring of two commercial real estate veterans. Markus Shayeb was named a senior vice president in the company’s tenant advisory services group and Janet Burch was appointed vice president and will market and lease office space for owners.

Shayeb has a quarter century of industry experience. His specialty includes restructuring leases, management of multi-market real estate portfolios and strategic real estate planning. Before joining Transwestern, Shayeb founded Square Four Real Estate Inc., a consulting firm based in San Francisco. He was also a president of HC&M Commercial’s office division, a managing director for Studley’s local branch and senior vice president for BT Commercial’s office leasing division.

Burch has 25 years of domestic and international real estate experience. After leaving Transwestern in 2002, she spent nearly six years in Tokyo, Japan with International Group Sanko Estate Co. Ltd. before spending two years with Cushman & Wakefield as director of business development in Hong Kong and Shanghai, China. For the last three years she served as an independent real estate consultant before re-joining Transwestern as a vice president.


SOUTH FLORIDA
Waters Joins Cushman as Senior Managing Director

Paul Waters joined Cushman & Wakefield as senior managing director and market leader of the company's South Florida operations. He will be based in the firm's Miami office. Waters will oversee the firms overall strategic business objectives and day-to-day activities for South Florida including Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Palm Beach submarkets.

Prior to joining Cushman, Waters served as an executive managing director of industrial services at CIII Realty's NAI Global. From 2005 to 2008 he served as senior managing director with CBRE. Prior to that, he was a senior managing director with the former Staubach Co., now Jones Lang LaSalle.


SAN FRANCISCO
Property Mgmt. Icon Joins C&C RiverRock Newmark

C&C RiverRock Newmark recruited Anne Hinz to oversee its 8 million-square-foot property management portfolio in Northern California. The 27-year commercial real estate professional will serve as an executive vice president in the firm’s San Francisco office.

Hinz is the former area asset manager/general manager for Paramount Group and was a key member of the team that repositioned One Market Plaza, a trophy, 1.6 million-square-foot office building. She aslo served as branch director/senior portfolio manager for Cushman & Wakefield’s Northern California Client Solutions Group, overseeing its 18 million-square-foot office, retail and industrial building portfolio and supervising 20 employees.


HOUSTON
Cheatham Joins ICORE Global as SVP

Josh Cheatham joined ICORE Global as a senior vice president and its strategic partner, Griffin Partners, as a partner. He will be based in Houston.

Cheatham will help expand the tenant and corporate services groups. The 15-year commercial real estate and business development veteran will Griffin's Co-Chairman Fred Griffin and ICORE Executive Managing Partner Drew Lewis.

He was previously at NAI for five years, where he was a top 10 producer.


NORTHERN NEW JERSEY, PHILADELPHIA
Gebroe-Hammer Names Oropeza, Brecher as Managing Directors

Gebroe-Hammer Associates appointed David Oropeza (left) and Joseph Brecher (right) as managing directors. As one of the Northeast’s most active multifamily investment brokerage firms, Gebroe-Hammer looks to continue its success within New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania with the new additions to the management team at its Livingston, NJ, office.

Oropeza joined Gebroe-Hammer in 1986 and for 26 years has been one of the firm’s most successful sales brokers. Oropeza has emerged as an expert of inner-city markets, having managed the firm’s activity throughout Northern New Jersey. His career includes the sale of $2 billion in commercial real estate including 20,000 multifamily units. Oropeza recently organized and hosted the East Orange Multifamily Investment Roundtable, a meeting and informal exchange by some of the most prominent apartment-building owners from the city.

Brecher will join Oropeza as a managing director, having joined the firm in 2001 as an area sales associate. Having managed the firm’s multifamily investment sales in Central New Jersey and the Philadelphia region, Brecher rapidly rose in the company to vice president in 2003. Brecher was then promoted to senior vice president in 2005 and executive vice president in 2008. Throughout his career Brecher has closed more than $2 billion in multifamily transactions along the east coast.


CHICAGO
Nieman Named EVP at U.S. Equities

Drew Nieman joined Chicago-based U.S. Equities Asset Management as an executive vice president where his primary focus will be uncovering downtown office building leasing opportunities. Nieman's hiring was announced by Robert A. Wislow, Chairman of U.S. Equities.

With nearly three decades of industry experience, Nieman's career in real estate began in Chicago in 1983 at The John Buck Company, where he led the firm's leasing group as principal. In 2009, he relocated to Abu Dhabi, UAE, for a two-year assignment with John Buck International, serving as executive director of leasing for 2 million square feet of office space in Abu Dhabi's new financial center.

Since returning from the Middle East, Nieman headed Colliers International's downtown Chicago leasing practice.

Nieman managed the Leo Burnett and Winston & Strawn renewals at 35 W. Wacker, Boeing’s relocation from Seattle to Chicago’s 100 N. Riverside, and the releasing of Sears Tower (now, Willis Tower) when Sears vacated its 2 million square feet.


NORTHERN NEW JERSEY
Romano Joins Colliers as Head of Princeton Office

Thomas Romano joined Colliers International NNJ LLC as executive managing director. In his new role, Romano will help expand the overall growth in market share and presence in the Princeton region.

With more than 17 years of experience, Romano previously served as a managing principal at Newmark Knight Frank’s Princeton office, as well as partner with Buschman Partners and WVA Williams Buschman.




NEW YORK CITY
Murray Hill Properties Promotes Six in NYC

Murray Hill Properties promoted six brokers in its New York City office. Murray Hill Properties is an affiliate of TCN Worldwide Network.

Roxana Girand was named executive managing director. She has more than 18 years of real estate experience, and has represented major office buildings and prominent tenatns during her tenure at MHP. She holds a Juris Doctor degree in International Law from Botaga in Colombia.

Esther Zar was named senior managing director. Zar represents both landlords and tenants and has completed over 1 million square feet in sales and leasing transactions.

John P. Howard was named managing director. Since joining Murray Hill Properties in 2007, Howard has represented both tenants and landlords. He holds a bachelor's degree in financial management from Clemson.

In addition, Daniel Lolai, Boris Peysakhov, and Whitney Anderson (pictured left to right, bottom row) were all promoted to the role of director in the firm.
