Bassen Joins Metropolitan Realty Associates

Todd Bassen has joined Metropolitan Realty Associates (MRA) as the firm’s managing principal, chief investment officer and partner of the firm.

Bassen brings 30 years of experience, with more than $11 billion in completed acquisitions throughout his career. Prior to joining MRA, Bassen served as senior director of acquisitions in Invesco Real Estate’s New York office. For five years he led the acquisition of office, retail, and multifamily properties for the company across New York. Bassen also worked at Vornado Realty Trust for 12 years. Before that he was a managing director for five years at Deutsche Bank-RREEF.


Cushman & Wakefield Names Judd NJ Market Leader

Andrew Judd has been promoted to senior managing director and New Jersey market leader at Cushman & Wakefield in East Rutherford, NJ. He had been serving as the interim director for the past year during the firm's merger with DTZ.

The Scotch Plains, NJ native joined Cushman & Wakefield in 2004 and in 2014 was promoted to senior operations manager for New Jersey. During his 12 years there, he has leased more than 80 million square feet. Before joining Cushman & Wakefield, Judd served as managing director of marketing services for CBRE’s New York office.

Colliers International Recruits Retail Team From Cushman

Colliers International has signed a four-woman retail leasing team led by industry veteran Nancy Erickson, charged with expanding the firm’s practice in Northern and Central New Jersey and throughout the Tri-State region and U.S.

Executive Managing Director Nancy Erickson, Director Jennifer Sofia, Associate Director Kelly Calamia-Bayer and Associate Nicole Nannola, based in New Jersey, will work closely with Colliers’ national retail services division led by National Director Anjee Solanki.


Belford Joins AHI as EVP

American Healthcare Investors has hired Christopher Belford as an executive vice president of asset management. In his new role, Belford will oversee all senior housing, skilled nursing and hospital properties with the company's $8 billion portfolio of assets under management.

Most recently the president of Brookdale Senior Living's western division, Belford was directly responsible for managing 269 senior living and retirement communities encompassing 24,400 units across 11 states. Belford began his career with Emeritus Assisted Living in 2001 until its merger with Brookdale, and before that was with BPM Assisted Living / Regent Assisted Living and ERA Care, Inc.


Smith Joins JLL Capital Markets

G. Ryan Smith has been hired as executive vice president at JLL Capital Markets in Irvine, CA.

Smith has more than 22 years of real estate experience, including his role as principal and co-founder of his own investment firm. Smith, previously at Peregrine Realty Partners, will now be procuring new investment opportunities and debt and asset management for JLL.

Smith is a member of the NAIOP, the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), and the Urban Land Institute (ULI).


Preferred Apartment Communities Appoints EVP, CAMO

Preferred Apartment Communities (NYSE: APTS) has hired William Randolph "Randy" Forth as an executive vice president and its chief asset management officer. Forth will also serve in the same capacity for PAC's external advisor, Preferred Apartment Advisors.

Forth transitions to PAC from JLL, where as an executive vice president he oversaw a team that provided brokerage services nationally for one of the largest land owners in the U.S. A 30-year industry veteran, he has also led asset management teams at Equitable Real Estate Investment Management, Inc. and Morgan Stanley Real Estate Advisors.

Holding, Belt and Sells Move to Cushman & Wakefield

Cushman & Wakefield has added Jeff Holding, executive director (pictured, left); A. J. Belt, director and Dawn Sells, brokerage coordinator to the firm's Fort Lauderdale, FL office.

Holding served as managing director of CBRE's Broward County office. He has more than 30 years of commercial real estate experience including over 1,000 leasing and sales transactions totaling more than $1 billion. Belt specializes in lease negotiations, strategic planning and market analysis. Before joining Cushman & Wakefield, Sells held the position of client services coordinator at CBRE for about 10 years.


IPA Promotes Weston to Executive Director

Institutional Property Advisors (IPA), a division of Marcus & Millichap, has promoted Stewart Weston to executive director.

Most recently a senior director with the firm's Irvine, CA office, Weston will partner with Christopher Zorbas and Alexander Garcia Jr. to cover Southern California markets. Weston joined the firm in 1991, having closed more than 450 multifamily transactions valued at over $2.5 billion in that time.


CREBA Appoints New Executive Director

The Commercial Real Estate Brokerage Association of Greater Washington, D.C. (CREBA) has named Mary Margaret Plumridge as its new executive director.

Plumridge’s role will focus on enhancing resources and benefits available to CREBA. Plumridge spent more than 15 years with Akridge as director of marketing and communications before transitioning to communications director for the Deputy DC Mayor for planning and economic development in the Fenty Administration. She also ran her own consulting firm, Red Plum Communications, representing a number of commercial real estate clients.
