Boston Redevelopment Authority Chief of Staff Tierney Taking Leadership Position at Jones Lang LaSalle

Jones Lang LaSalle announced it is bringing Boston Redevelopment Authority Chief of Staff and Special Counsel James Tierney onboard in March 2014 to assume the new position of New England market director, responsible for the growth and strategic direction of JLL's business throughout the region.

During his time at BRA, Tierney participated in the evaluation of all proposed projects in Boston, the creation of zoning entitlement strategies, the review of institutional master plans and the use of economic incentives to stimulate new development. He also oversaw the City of Boston’s planning and economic development agency's operations and managed and developed BRA's real estate holdings.


Blanca Commercial Real Estate Promotes Linares

Blanca Commercial Real Estate promoted Danet Linares to vice chairman. Linares has been with the company since 2009, having previously served as executive vice president.

Linares joined Blanca after serving as senior vice president and director of real estate services at Foram Group.

Recently, Linares represented clients such as Miami Herald Media Company and White & Case. She has been instrumental in acquiring leasing assignments at Blanca for properties such as 1450 Brickell and 396 Alhambra.


Richman Grp Dev Corp Expands, Names Daniels President

The Richman Group Development Corp., responsible for the development of more than 20,000 rental units since 1987, has established a California division with a new office in La Jolla, and has named multifamily developer Luke Daniels as president of the newly-created office.

Daniels will lead the office in the development of design-driven luxury rental residential properties as well as workforce and affordable housing projects in Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego Counties. The firm will focus on mid-rise projects in mature suburban markets.

Daniels most recently served as managing director for Trammell Crow Residential's western division, where he managed a team responsible for more than 2,000 units and oversaw acquisition, entitlements, procurement of equity and debt capital, and development. He earned his bachelor's degree in urban planning and real estate development from the University of Southern California.

Ensemble Hotel Partners Appoints New CIO

Brian Ehrlich has been appointed as the new chief investment officer at Ensemble Hotel Partners.

Ehrlich has more than 20 years of hospitality real estate experience. His vast experience in establishing new ventures and investment opportunities within the hospitality real estate industry is expected to serve as a viable asset to the company and build on the solid foundation achieved by the Ensemble Hotel Partners team.

Ehrlich is a graduate from Harvard University, and will be based in the firm's Long Beach, CA office.


Swill Joins The Carlton Group

Kevin B. Swill has been appointed as chief operating officer at the Carlton Group. Filling a newly-created position at the firm, Swill will oversee day-to-day operations of the company as well as growing the firm's equity syndication business and Carlton's investment sales division.

Swill's real estate and capital markets experience includes acquisitions financing, recapitalization and disposition of more than 13,000 apartments while serving as president of Westminster Capital, a subsidiary of Kushner Companies, where he managed a staff of property managers responsible for more than four million square feet of commercial space.

Before that, Swill held positions at Merrill Lynch, CIBC, Deutsche Banc, and Citicorp/Citibank. He is a member of REBNY, NMHC, NAIOP, and ICSC.


Lee & Associates Promotes Pearson

Lee & Associates promoted Russell Pearson to principal in its Kansas City office.

Pearson joined Lee & Associates in 2008, and since that time has handled some key industrial transactions for Lee & Associates in recent years. He has won several awards for his efforts, including a CoStar Power Broker award in 2012. He previously served as vice president of operations for A-Z Manufacturing & Sales.

Pearson received his MBA from the University of Missouri, Kansas City in 2009. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing from Graceland University in 2003.


Bellizzi Promoted to VP, Principal

Scott Bellizzi has been appointed vice president and principal of Lee & Associates - Newport Beach, Inc., one of the largest companies in the 48-member Lee & Associates group of companies.

Bellizzi focuses on the exclusive representation of tenant leasing, acquisition and disposition of commercial office properties across Orange County, including occupants in the legal, financial, tech, healthcare, life science and semiconductor industries.

Bellizzi earned his bachelor's degree in public administration and city planning from San Diego State University.


New Executive Leadership Named at MacKenzie

J. Scott Wimbrow, SIOR, Christopher C. Bennett and Thomas L. Fiddler have been promoted to the position of executive vice president at MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services.

President Robert J. Aumiller has set in place a plan for the new leadership as he transitions from president to principal in the next six months. Wimbrow will become the new president of MacKenzie Commercial on July 1, 2014, where he will oversee the leasing and sales team. After July, Bennett and Fiddler will continue as executive vice presidents and will assist Wimbrow in the day to day oversight of the office, retail, industrial and investments teams.


Bransfield Promoted to SVP at Advantage Title

John Bransfield III has been promoted to senior vice president at Advantage Title, the flagship company of the Advantage Group.

Previously the vice president - sales, Bransfield has been with Advantage since 2007. He is active in numerous professional organizations including the Long Island Real Estate Group (LIREG) and the Commercial Industrial Brokers Society (CIBS) of Long Island.

Bransfield earned his degree in business and finance at Mount St. Mary's College, and is a 2013 graduate of the Energeia Partnership at Molloy College, a Long Island-based stewardship program.


Henry S Miller Promotes Webb

Henry S. Miller (HSM) promoted Craig Webb to senior vice president of the Dallas-Fort Worth corporate services division.

Webb has been with HSM for 12 years and has completed more than 400 transactions in 30 different states. He is noted as a strong negotiator and is proficient in market research, data interpretation and construction.

"In his twelfth year of service at Henry S. Miller, Webb has proven himself a strategic real estate professional and consistent producer in representing national tenants in their office space requirements across the United States." said Dan Arnold, president of the corporate services division.


Wilkins Joins Walton Asset Management

Walton Asset Management (WAM) named Sam Wilkins executive vice president, capital markets.

In his new role as executive vice president, Wilkins will oversee West Coast operations and be responsible for institutional debt and equity capital raising, managing development entities and negotiating strategic partnerships with institutional investors.

Before joining Walton, Wilkins was a partner at North Point Advisors, a San Francisco-based investment bank focused on M&A and private equity for consumer and real estate companies. Prior to his role at North Point, Wilkins managed the lodging, gaming and leisure investment banking group at Banc of America Securities. He graduated with honors from Yale University and the University of Chicago Law School.


The Woodmont Co Promotes Two

The Woodmont Co. promoted Brad Cruickshank and Joseph Williams in the firm's Dallas / Ft. Worth office.

Cruickshank was promoted to senior vice president. In his career, he has completed transactions valued at more than $800 million. His concentration is in the sale and sourcing of retail properties, shopping centers and net-leased investments within the Dallas/Ft. Worth metropolitan market and throughout the U.S.

Williams was promoted to assistant vice president. He specializes in tenant representation with a focus on site selection, strategic planning and transaction services for retailers and restaurants throughout the U.S., predominantly in Texas and California.


Johnston Joins NAI Desco

Tim Johnston has joined NAI Desco as a vice president in the firm's O'Fallon, IL office. In his new role, Johnston will focus on CRE services in Southern Illinois.

Johnston was previously at Johnson Properties for seven years, and prior to that spent 20 years at Kenneth Johnson Agency. Throughout the course of his more than 25 years in the business, Johnston has completed over 600 transactions and received numerous awards.

"Tim will be a great addition to our team in the Illinois office," said Illinois managing broker David Wittenauer. "Over the years, I have worked on many transactions with Tim and I’m very excited to have him join our company."


CBRE Capital Markets Hires Three to Business Lending Unit

CBRE Group has hired Robert "RJ" Luth, Jr., Robert Doxsee, and Daniel Eshbaugh to its Capital Markets' business lending unit. The group originates and closes owner-using commercial real estate mortgages with a focus on the SBA 504 loan program as well as traditional bank and non-bank lending sources.

    HKS Promotes Garfinkel to VP

    HKS Capital Partners has promoted Richard Garfinkel to vice president, commercial originations. In his new role, Garfinkel will be responsible for CRE loan origination, debt, equity, and structured finance from the firm's New York City office.

    Garfinkel has been active in the investment industry for more than 30 years, with a background in real estate construction and acquisition, as well as permanent and refinance lending. Additionally he has been involved in international contract negotiations covering asset exchanges, joint ventures and financing deals.

    "With his acute knowledge of the capital markets, Rich works diligently to satisfy those needs with a 'hands on' approach, from origination through closing," said HKS Capital Partners co-founder Ayush Kapahi.
