It's time to update those contact managers with CoStar's People of Note, reporting news on significant new CRE hires and promotions. This week's issue includes the following markets: Dallas / Ft. Worth, Chicago, New York City, Minneapolis, San Antonio, and San Francisco.

DALLAS / FT. WORTH

Mohr Partners Appoints President, Promotes Three

Global corporate real estate advisor Mohr Properties recently made several new appointments in its Dallas headquarters.

Robert Shibuya will succeed Ted Fredericks as the firm's president.

In his new position, Shibuya will oversee Mohr Partner's real estate service business, comprised of transaction advisory, portfolio/lease administration, project management and corporate finance/disposition services to corporate and government sector clients. Reporting directly to chairman, CEO and founder Bob Mohr, Shibuya will also look to expand the firm's U.S. platform and hone its international delivery model.

In his 31-year career, Shibuya has held executive positions with CBRE, Trammell Crow, and most recently DTZ, where he served as its global chief executive.

Additionally, Shelly Christenson, Derith Jarvis, and Nicolette Mason have been promoted from shared services directors to managing partners.

CHICAGO

Inland American Names Senior VP of Transactions

Inland American Real Estate Trust named Christopher Covey as its senior vice president of transactions.

In his new position, Covey will lead Inland's acquisition and disposition teams and help pilot company strategies.

Covey has spent 25 years in the retail real estate industry, most recently serving as managing director of acquisitions for Kimco Realty Corp. He has also worked as a director and investment officer for Heller Financial's central southeast regions.



CHICAGO

Torok Makes Move to JLL HQ

Todd Torok, previously of Lee & Associates' investment services group, has joined JLL's capital markets team in Chicago as a senior vice president.

In his new position, Torok will work under the direction of International Director John Huguenard to provide Midwest industrial acquisition and disposition expertise to institutional and private equity clients.

Prior to his position as a principal at Lee & Associates, Torok worked at GVA Williams as executive managing director. He broke into the industry with Insignia/ESG.



DALLAS / FT. WORTH

Transwestern Hires Jessee

Transwestern has hired Jeri Jessee as its managing director of lease administration. Based in Dallas, Jessee will be charged with overseeing and expanding Transwestern’s lease administration assignments globally.

Prior to joining Transwestern, Jessee spent the last 18 years at JLL as a national director. She was responsible for lease administration and transaction management, and grew the company’s lease administration revenue by 82 percent in the last two years.

Jessee holds a bachelor's of business administration degree from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.



NEW YORK CITY

Berkshire Group Taps Pfeil as VP Acquisitions

Jonathan Pfeil has joined Berkshire Group as vice president, acquisitions.

Based in the firm's New York office, Pfeil will be responsible for Berkshire's debt strategies platform as well as equity transactions across the Tri-State region. He will report to Eric Draeger, senior vice president and head of equity and debt transactions.

Pfeil previously served as a principal at Ranieri Real Estate Partners, where he led the acquisition and disposition of Berkeley Point Capital, a multifamily mortgage finance platform. Before that he held the title of vice president in Deutsche Bank AG's commercial real estate group.

MINNEAPOLIS

Frauenshuh Commercial Promotes Hedlund

Frauenshuh Commercial Real Estate Group promoted Ross Hedlund to vice president in its Minneapolis, MN office.

Hedlund joined Frauenshuh in 2010 and specializes in the office, healthcare, retail and industrial markets. He has brokered 125 transactions totaling more than 1 million square feet, and has been involved in the development of several properties with approximately $15 million in total consideration.

Hedlund previously served two year-long tours in Iraq with the 34th "Red Bull" Infantry Division, Minnesota Army National Guard. In 2009 he was awarded the Bronze Star for services rendered.



SAN ANTONIO

Embrey Partners Adds New VP

Embrey Partners, Ltd. named Garrett Karam executive vice president of finance in its San Antonio office.

Karam will be responsible for managing Embrey's capital requirements by coordinating both equity and debt needs.

Karam previously served as vice president of capital markets for The Hanover Co. in Houston.

Karam holds a bachelor's degree in business administration in finance from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master's Degree in real estate development from Columbia University.



DALLAS / FT. WORTH

Hines Shores Up Property Management Platform

Hines recently appointed Andrew Jones as its director of property management.

Operating out of the Dallas office, Jones will head up the Dallas/Fort Worth property management team, cultivate client relationships and spearhead development of third-party property management business, and manage One Victory Park, a 436,000-square-foot, 20-story office tower located in uptown Dallas.

Jones joins Hines from Cassidy Turley, where he served as a vice president working with a multitude of institutional clients including JP Morgan Asset Management, Investcorp and Parkway Properties.



SAN FRANCISCO

Bullock Joins HFF

Ben Bullock joined HFF as a director in the firm's San Francisco office. In his new role, Bullock will specialize in investment sales transactions in northern California.

Prior to joining HFF, Bullock worked at JLL as president of the firm's capital markets group. He has been working in the commercial real estate industry for six years and has been involved in more than $3.4 billion in total closed transactions. He began his career as an analyst at Eastdil Secured and has also worked at Newmark Knight Frank Cornish & Carey Commercial Capital Group.

Bullock is a member of Urban Land Institute and NAIOP'S San Francisco and Silicon Valley Chapter. He earned his degree in business administration from Pepperdine University.
