LOS ANGELES

CBRE Taps Horne as President, Greater Los Angeles Region

CBRE Group, Inc. (NYSE: CBG) has promoted Lewis Horne to president, Greater Los Angeles - Orange County Region. Horne will continue responsibility for eight offices and more than 1,200 employees across the firm's 15 primary business lines and specialty practice groups.

Horne has led the region for CBRE since 2007. His promotion to the title of president reflects a high level of performance across several leadership attributes, including new business development, sales and people management, market and industry leadership, and client relationships.

"This is a well-deserved promotion for Lew," said Cal Frese, CEO, Americas Region for CBRE. "He is an exemplary market leader who has excelled over an extended time period. Lew has consistently produced superior financial results while exhibiting strong leadership qualities and upholding our core values."

ATLANTA

CBRE Promotes Ferguson to President of Southeast Region

CBRE promoted its top Atlanta-based real estate executive to the position of president of the firm's Southeast Region.

John Ferguson has led CBRE’s Southeast Region since January 2011, overseeing operations in Atlanta, Birmingham, Charlotte, Charleston, Greenville, Nashville and Savannah and manages relationships with the firm's affiliates in Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

"John is a clear leader in the Atlanta business community. He has an impeccable track record of recruiting, developing and retaining top teams, is among our very best leaders in new business development, and has excelled at identifying, executing and integrating M&A opportunities," said Jim Reid, CBRE’s president, Eastern Division, in announcing the promotion.

ATLANTA

York Transitions to Advisors Division

Danny York has been appointed to president of Franklin Street's Capital Advisors division.

In his new role with FSCA, York will manage the division’s corporate development efforts and work to establish and maintain debt and equity relationships. York plans to work with clients to improve, enhance and implement an approach for income-producing real estate investments with his teams in Atlanta and Tampa.

York spent the last five years as Franklin Street's COO, overseeing more than $500 million in annual transactions nationwide. Prior to co-founding Franklin Street in 2006, York worked at Marcus & Millichap Capital Corp. as an originator and in the multifamily sector of a California-based bank. York earned a bachelor's degree in applied economics and finance from Florida State University.



EAST BAY

Lee & Associates Promotes Jones

Lee & Associates promoted Ben Jones to principal in its Oakland office.

Since coming to Lee & Associates as an associate in 2008, Jones has concentrated on the sales and leasing of office space in the metropolitan area of greater Oakland. In the last year and a half alone, Jones has secured more than 50 office sales and lease deals in the Bay Area.

Lee & Associates has continued to expand the Oakland office since its inception in 2006, growing from four to 15 brokers who handle the industrial, office and retail markets.



ATLANTA

Kros Joins Ridge Development

Ridge Development appointed Steve Kros to executive vice president. He will be based in the firm's Atlanta office.

In his new role, Kros will be responsible for expanding Ridge Development's operations along the East Coast, securing business opportunities from New York to Florida. Kros will oversee each East Coast project including site selection, entitlement, construction, leasing and disposition. He also has the task of building and managing teams to handle the new projects.

Kros was previously with CRE Capital Advisors in Boston, where he provided specialized services to international institutional investors. Prior to that, he was vice president at AMB Property Corp., where he was in charge of real estate development and acquisition investments in East Coast markets.



CHICAGO

CBRE Promotes Saad to Executive VP

CBRE has promoted David Saad to executive vice president of its tenant representation group in Chicago.

A member of CBRE's critical environment practice and life science group, Saad specializes in representing life science users throughout suburban Chicago. His concentrations include structuring and negotiating commercial leases and assisting with the buying and selling of owned or leased properties.

Saad joined CBRE in 2003 after the firm merged with Insignia/ESG, where he worked as an associate in the firm's research services group. In 2013, Saad represented Gogo, Inc. in its corporate relocation to 231,000 square feet at 111 N. Canal in Chicago's West Loop. The deal was the largest office lease signed in Chicago in Q4 2013, and one of the largest of the year.



NEW YORK CITY

Abdo Joins CBC Alliance

Corey J. Abdo joined Coldwell Banker Commercial Alliance's New York City office as an executive managing director, leasing and sales. Abdo will provide owner representation and tenant advisory services in his new role.

Previously, he led the leasing efforts of as executive vice president and partner of EVO Real Estate Group, formerly Winoker Realty Co., Inc. Throughout a career spanning 25 years of landlord and tenant representation in Manhattan, Abdo has negotiated over two million square feet of real estate transactions.

Abdo is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY).



BOSTON

Cushman & Wakefield Taps Skinner to Head Valuation & Advisory Operations

Cushman & Wakefield has appointed Robert Skinner, MAI, MRICS to take over for long-time senior managing director Randy Harwood as the head of its New England valuation and advisory operations.

As an executive director, Skinner oversaw the appraisal and valuation of office, land and mixed-use developments throughout Boston and the surrounding region. To date, he has analyzed and valued more than $13 billion in multifamily housing and $7 billion in office space.

Skinner has been with Cushman & Wakefield for the past 13 years, joining the firm after spending five years as a member of a New England investment sales team that closed more than $4 billion in transactions during his tenure. In that time, Skinner alone valued and analyzed 15 million square feet of office, industrial and retail space, in addition to 5,000 multifamily apartments for an aggregate sum of more than $2.5 billion.



DETROIT

CBRE's Latessa Assumes Wider Leadership Role in Midwest

John Latessa, senior managing director at CBRE, will broaden his leadership responsibilities in the Midwest, overseeing Indianapolis, St. Louis, and Kansas City, in addition to Detroit and the company's Ohio markets. As a result of the expanded responsibilities, Latessa will also join CBRE's eastern division executive committee.

Since 2008, Latessa has managed all of CBRE's service lines in Michigan, including brokerage, tenant representation, investment property sales and valuation and advisory services, totaling more than $1.5 billion in service-related activity. In 2012, Latessa's responsibilities were expanded to include the Ohio markets of Columbus, Cleveland and Cincinnati.

Before coming to CBRE Detroit in 2007, Latessa held title as a principal and managing director for JFK Investment Co. Additional stops also include serving as an executive vice president at Larson Realty Group and as a project manager and director of marketing for Hines.



PHOENIX

Kuller Joins Colliers Int'l as Vice President

Colliers International in Greater Phoenix has hired Kirk Kuller as vice president. He joins the investment property sales team led by Mindy Korth, where he will specialize in structuring deals and guiding clients through the financial process while preparing robust financial analysis and market studies.

Kuller brings more than 15 years of financial services experience, having structured and underwritten more than $50 billion in transactions throughout his career. He previously served as managing director of CBRE's financial consulting group for the Southwest region. Kuller also brings an extensive understanding of corporate real estate and tenant advisory.

"Kirk’s financial acumen and leadership in providing solutions for elaborate projects will propel Mindy Korth’s first-rate team to an even higher level," said Bob Mulhern, managing director of Colliers International in Greater Phoenix.



TAMPA

Grafton Joins Franklin Street as Director

Bryce Grafton has joined Franklin Street Real Estate Services as director of industrial investment sales in the firm's Tampa office.

Grafton brings more than 16 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry, previously serving as CEO of Catalyst Development where he aided investors in the repositioning of value-add assets and raised more than $20 million in private capital. He began his career in land development and construction.

Grafton maintains a positive outlook on the industrial market, citing a year-end spike in industrial sales with increasingly high returns across the country. He also expects industrial to positively gain as online shopping continues to increase, forcing retailers to shrink their brick-and-mortar presence while shifting inventory to an increasing number of fulfillment centers.
